  1. Stop feeling like a weak person your not! My wife suffers and the hardest thing for her is talking as she feels weak too! Try to keep talking about it. Try not to bottle it up I know that's hard.all the best Richard
  2. I was trying to say that it's not just about about the amount of time said form takes to fill in. It's about more than that!
  3. [maybe the council know this company's standard of work and that helped to push the order through? If so it more than pays for itself QUOTE=treestuff;1228664]The firm that filled in the form did it at my house when he came to do the quote, filled it in with me and it took us about 5 minutes to do. How can anyone justify 5minutes worth of work to be £60-£100, do you all charge for giving written quotes as there must of been the same amount of work as giving a written quote and posting it out to me?
  4. Fill th orms out yourself and wait and see
  5. I think you should use the people who did the application or at least pay than M for their time and expenses ! I don't do tree work but I would be very annoyed if someone did that to me!!
  6. I too had this done I was told 3 months and I did tr to wait but only managed about 9 weeks. Went back too soon I think and am now going through the process of maybe having another op. Just had mri 3 weeks ago and got to see the consultant in 2 weeks to hear his decision on what to do now. Don't rush back!!
  7. I say go with a honda izy as they just go and go and go. But then I would buy any mower with a honda engine if the rest of it was well made as well. As above honda originals get expensive as you go up the range, and IF you splashed out for the Hondas (including the clones kaaz, cobra etc) with self drive be prepared for the drive gearbox to break as they ar c*** and expensive to fix!! I think the pro 4 wheel 21inch is hydrostatic and does not suffer the same problems with said gearboxes I think it's just the roller models. Hopefully that's helps a bit. Cheers Richard
  8. What's a fair profit though?
  9. [hi mate not saying that I think they have been good to anyone but themselves over the years! But they are still making vast amounts of money just not as much as before. However I think it would be nice to go back in time a bit and shop in a village/small high street that has all you need. Butcher, veg shop, bakers etc (stuff from these does taste better) but can't see it happening. Time convenience and price won't allow it (for most people) I don't think which is a shame:thumbdown: I'm with you on the farmers thing lived on 1 for 20 years growing up. We had a farm shop that tesco killed about 17-18 years ago. Just my thoughts mate:thumbup: QUOTE=mendiplogs;1188617]HI RICHARD what comes around goes around they mess farmers around for years mate :lol:thanks jon
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if they have written of some debt now as its a good time to have all the bad news out at once. So that when next results are out they are on the rise again. Anyway since when is half a billion profit bad news?
  11. I'd like some waterproofs that don't feel like your are wearing a plastic bag which just makes you wet from the inside with sweat. So waterproof and Breathable!!!
  12. Many thanks for all help:thumbup:
  13. You will lose 2.5 mm of clearance wont you. Which should not be a problem. And very very slightly gear the truck up like you said. Is there a ford ranger forum to ask on? I would check your warranty before you do though as they may try and fall back on "modifications" to get out of any repairs!(working transmission etc harder than intended)
  14. That would be brilliant if you could many thanks Richard
  15. Thanks for that a job for the weekend I think. Ant idea where I could get a manual so I have a chance of getting it back together in the right order! Many thanks Richard
  16. I know I don't really need a saw as such but they do save a hell of a lot of time!
  17. I was trying to say that I did not want to pay £100 for a repair hence buy a new one! Thanks for answering everyone Richard
  18. Not really a new saw just thought that I would be looking at about a ton and not willing to pay that much to repair. So maybe will look into it further thanks for that.
  19. Hi I have a very old ms170 I think! Anyway oiler is dead and chain needs replacing and bar has seen better days. So it's time to replace. What should I get? It's only for very occasional use. Taking low branches off felling very small tress(maximum 10-12 foot high) and taking out large overgrown shrubs! The stihl lasted 10 plus years. I want something that will go when I ask it to but it need not be special. Many thanks in advance richard
  20. I think they will come back strong. Don't really want them to. They are too big to fail I think. If this cause problems they will just use thier power in buying which they still have to thier advantage again to make up losses!
  21. Not sure about draining red and refilling with white. Farmers drive on the road all the time with red that's for profit. And so is your use of red(forestry use? Not sure about red for that) Just seems a bit odd that farmers can go on the road and you can't!
  22. How much for the piece (very nice by the way) I would of thought that it would need to be £1300 to £1500 if not more. Am I miles out or does it take so long to make that even at that price you are not making much? Top job
  23. Just out of interest what is a basic salary for a tree worker? Just wondering as a mate had a big chestnut taken down and stump out and small hedge reduction for £2150 plus vat. Somone made some money! Only 4 1/2 hour job thanks Richard
  24. Meant forgiving!
