  1. For me of all the things I could "really really worry" about, that would come fairly low on the list. Still, different strokes and all that.
  2. Oh give all this prefect stuff a rest Jules. If we want to have a laugh over it, we will. Nobody died.
  3. Yep I've done it, in the days before mobile phones et al. Nothing that big though!
  4. Maybe, but tracks and all the paraphernalia are heavy. Now to the nub, I like it, you're clever, well done, but I can't help thinking that for all that effort you should have put a larger unit on. Isn't the cs100 18hp? Two blokes can manhandle a cs100 pretty much anywhere I'm told.
  5. I doubt big branches will be going through that TBH.
  6. Once they start saying it'll affect the value of the house you know he's after compo.
  7. Big tree, bad lean. Good job
  8. Well I'm no Jedi but put the blade behind when digging, and do a many point turn to avoid pulling turf up.
  9. Good for the Eager Beaver! I like him already!
  10. You don't need any in the UK.
  11. I know, brilliant isn't it? It starts of with the cataclysmic arrival of.......a new fuel can, rumbled on for a bit while people scratched around looking for something about it worth rowing about then....Bingo!
  12. With all due respect (meaning of course, none at all) the OP is in cloud cuckoo land. Angle grinders, chop saws, percussion drills the list goes on. Hundreds of thousands of people own and use chainsaws with no problems. As for the Cowboys, every trade needs them. Back to the drawing board for you.
  13. I tell you what, there are some really great second hand bigger chippers around for not very much money. There's a 220gm for 4500 with less than a 1000 hrs on treebay atm. Get past 750kg and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Edit, I don't know where I got the hours from, doesn't say, but it looks like a good machine..
  14. It's unlikely I'll ever get round to reading one of his books but the obit gives an idea of his achievements. Original thinking and encyclopedic knowledge.
  15. I've got a 066, bought second hand, probably around '99. Really great saw, never missed a beat, by way of reference I have a husky 288 and 390, It's as good as either. If it's a good un, I'd say buy it
  16. 36!!! Brutal.
  17. You can't get down from a tree in 60 secs? If your rope is long enough to descend dump the chainsaw and you can be down in 20 sec max. Assuming you're not up a welly or something.
  18. I reckon more important is the ability to get down quickly, ensuring enough rope for a fast uninterrupted descent. I can't see anyone having the wherewithal to self apply a tourniquet up a tree, when I've had hand/upper arm "incidents" jamming it under your armpit and get the hell down is the best solution.
  19. Can't see the point myself, just get down. ASAP
  20. No eye dear, just thought it was worth a look, maybe put it with some other stuff.
  21. Try treestuff in the US, the pound is strong ATM, worth a look.
  22. That copper beech is nice. It's one of the few instances I would go with the tippy whippy tickle reductions. Good job.
  23. I use a wire core flip line as a second tie in.
  24. Swinny when you say you've informed those who need to know, you are referring to you firewood clients for 2016 I presume:001_tt2:
