  1. Doesn't look very loved does it? Assuming no one gives a monkey's fell it. If it's someone's pride and joy (unlikely by the look of it) you could hat rack it and start a pollard cycle.
  2. That would make it even worse!
  3. I've never had a problem with them TBH. The old style screw type had a limited life span because people pushed too hard with the screwdriver and eventually pierced the cap. I've enough old saws in various states of disrepair to have a stock of this sort of stuff. I understand your frustration though.
  4. Was he going down a route he oughtn't?
  5. It's nice Ian, does great stuff. I cannot be convinced, however, that a compact tractor with a grab couldn't do the same job quicker, with less mess and much, much, cheaper. Plus you can sit down! And mow a field etc..
  6. Me neither, I've never sold a saw, I just buy new and keep the old one in reserve, bring it out once a month to keep the pipes clear. I'd NEVER sell my 288 or the 066 or......
  7. I know it's for a laugh but I have to agree. There is so many ways to injure yourself in this game, I know in the old days these things went on but I don't think they should be encouraged in any way.
  8. The client had had the snip, when his wife got preggers she admitted who it was. He phoned to complain and received the reply "do you want me to give my staff condoms?" Mind you he was an Olympic standard BS merchant.
  9. I knew a landscaper who's employee got the client's wife pregnant.
  10. Believe it or not in other countries the use of a chainsaw does not mean wearing a suit of armour, filling out of forms and guys in hi vis jackets with flashing beacons on their heads. He'll probably outlive all of us.
  11. Decent sharp saw. Getting the job done. Good for him.
  12. Fair enough, clients are like trees, all different and often awkward but have an annoying habit of paying the bills.
  13. Because it makes you sound evasive, and some people take time off work or otherwise rearrange things to be there.
  14. For me 20 to 25 hp minimum. Those 13hp ones are painful. I'm no fan of pedestrian grinders, but I've seen a dosko (possibly) with the Kohler command 25 hp motor. It's was pretty good.
  15. Tyres with cord wood placed on top.
  16. 880 is great, when you need it. Sometimes I need it. Anyway for the OP, I hear some good things about the big Makitas. Heavy but powerful as I understand it. If you're just ringing up weight isn't really such a big deal, and I bet they're a lot cheaper.
  17. Ha ha. it is a tricky one though, you can't just say "it'll take as long as it takes"
  18. What an odd thing! You say the nuts were checked that morning? And then later they fell off! Who did the checking?
  19. Do you buy it online Geoff?
  20. Sell it for cash.
  21. If you want to take offence, fine, wallow in it. I refer you to the pot/kettle meme
  22. Offensive, coming from someone who says that a working mother leaves their children to fend for themselves....
  23. Unsure, I've seen small people in my house but cannot be certain.
  24. H&S gone mad imo, I've impaled myself on countless cast iron railings, and apart from one afternoon off in 1987, never missed a days work.
  25. Go back a bit through the thread, all will become clear.
