  1. What? Support people who teach genocide to their kids in the classroom... c'mon Huck, you know me better than that! The Palestinian "cause" has to be one of the biggest red herrings in modern history. Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  2. Or this...,.. Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  3. Or put another way..... Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  4. Standing by and doing nothing while evil unfolds around you can hardly be the right thing to do. Bonhoeffer understood this principle when he took on the nazis'. History records that he was a great man, of great spirituality and integrity. Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  5. Although the people that run the door security and the drugs (usually one and the same) are not really that pleasant and "loved up" when you look a little closer. [emoji41] Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  6. I totally agree with you on that score. However I do think that sometimes the "spiritual" thing to do is to stand and fight evil when it is necessary. Singing "cum by yah" round the camp fire is great at its appropriate time. Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a good example of a Christian who stood and fought for what was right. Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  7. That's a shame, they'd think the world of you..,,, Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  8. So you think that the US should stand and watch as Assad (along with a complicit Russia and Iran) use outlawed chemical weapons to slaughter his own people? Would you have said the same thing about Churchill when he undertook similar actions last century? Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  9. Overhaul the tax system. Making sure that Google/Starbucks/Amazon etc.. pay their fair dues and that the taxes collected aren't spent on wasteful projects (such as the EU) ...... Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  10. I don't think anyone seriously regards it as a religion of peace anymore. "By their fruit you shall know them" Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  11. Yes it did. Hydraulic oil everywhere. [emoji107] Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  12. I'm hoping to get some of these soon. I think the Buckingham and Bashlin fitting is the same https://goo.gl/images/3qo5O5 Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  13. I know, if they had to compete on a level playing field they would really struggle. Once they had bought the obligatory £35k welfare vans and factored in all of the inefficiency that is culturally embedded in that sector it's hard to see how they could be competitive. Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  14. Thanks Bob. I'm still not sure about that particular clause as our charitable business is still classed as a commercial enterprise. Being under 7.5t and not being used as main work activity comes the closest that I can see, but I wondered if the arb arisings would constitute haulage and disqualify us from the exemption? Do you know who I can ask to get the definitive answer? Thanks mate. Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  15. Here's a question relating to this exemption... would removing the Arb arisings of chip and logs still be covered by this or would their transportation or haulage mean that we needed to run with a tachometer? If so, how could we get this in writing? If anyone uses this exemption and knows for a fact that it covers domestic Arb I'd be really grateful to hear about it. Thanks Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  16. Resurrection blessings to you too MrJ. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  17. Or cultivate your gains..... Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  18. The signature is quote from a guy called Jim Elliot (worth a Google if you have a spare 10 mins) Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  19. Liberal secularism is my guess...... Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  20. Take ages to shovel chip out of a fully loaded caravan though..... Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  21. Doubtful you could buy the Zillon separate. Petzl absolutely insist on using their rope. I talked to the Petzl rep at the Arb show and he said it's got nothing to do with you spending your money with them, but, if you used a different brand of rope the device would instantly disintegrate......, Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  22. Never heard of that one...... Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  23. We've just got a 6.5t Iveco it's not that much bigger than a transit but look at the difference in payload Transit 3.5t double cab = 800kg Iveco 6.5t crew cab = 3500kg Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  24. Does this mean that when it does happen it's just going in people's back pockets? Surely not! [emoji849] Timon "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
  25. That sounds like an excellent course of action. It would be really interesting to see what happened. The whole thing stinks to high heaven. "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose"
