  1. Still prefer him to Hillary or Obama though
  2. I agree. Hard to believe that out of 300 million people he's the best of the bunch. Or as my American wife says, perhaps he's the only one crazy enough to want the job.
  3. Nice shots Sean. [emoji106]
  4. As far as I know, there is only one firm in the U.K. who have the licence to splice rope "after-market" and be able to apply a CE mark which is required for LOLER ing PPE climbing kit. The bottom line here is that in the event of a home splice failing and an insurance claim being sought, the insurance company would use the excuse of "No CE mark" to void the policy and refuse the claim, most likely. It is a very controversial subject. The main argument being: What is safer to climb on; 1. A bowline or similar termination knot with the resultant weakness in the ropes strength... Or, 2. A well spliced termination performed by an experienced person. ? Hope this is helpful. [emoji106]
  5. There Gary, tweaked that for you. [emoji41]

    Oak Thin

I know. After I had finished the customer asked if I was going to take anything off the height. [emoji849]

    Oak Thin

Nice little oak to thin out this morning
  8. Morning MrJ, I wonder if they like cheese slices and chocolate in Iran? The ayatollah must be looking on at how NK seems to be mugging the UN and US off right now and rubbing their hands together. A paranoid madman with nukes is one thing...... An expansionist, hardline, Islamic nation with global "messianic" designs already developing nukes and ICBM's is quite another prospect. [emoji107][emoji856][emoji33]

Meindl airstreams here, about 18 months out of these so far.
  10. If only it was still Cadbury's, MrJ.. Shares in Kraft are what you would have to buy now... I don't think carpet bombs made of plastic cheese would have the same effect somehow Nice idea though!
  11. Very nice set up.
  12. I know hindsight is a great lens to view world affairs with.... But what did Barak Obama really think would be the outcome of his "strategic patience" approach to N Korea? Just an even bigger can to kick further down the road for the next POTUS? The key to dealing with NK seems to lie with China and they don't seem to be motivated to do very much. Up until now the question has been, how likely is it that NK would launch a pre-emotive strike? So far it seems that Kim's weapons program is purely designed to keep him securely in power. At what point does the threat become unacceptable and how much collateral damage would US/Japan/SK have to absorb in order to make an invasion viable? (The one silver lining is that there aren't many if any islamic fundamentalists waiting to fill any potential power vacuum.) It'll certainly be interesting to see how this is going to play out.
  13. Thinking about it from from the homeowners perspective.... would I really want to hire a firm that was desperate/unethical enough to try poaching work in this manner?
  14. Anyone going to the World Cup in Qatar 2022? I wonder what the chances are, that the French will get a few complimentary tickets ??? https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10911/france-qatar

    To old?

4 man team all climbing. That's certainly a squad with depth. Our experience has been that very often we put someone through their tickets and they leave. ( thinking that CS 38/39 = top lead climber[emoji849]) To keep 4 climbers going consistently on one crew is exceptional I would think. Fair play. [emoji106]
  16. You sound surprised?? Makes Breitbart look impartial!
  17. Paul. Bet it doesn't take long for that Bandit to fill the Iveco ...
  18. Trust him more than I would Clinton (either of them). Or Obama.. Which isn't saying much, I know. My point wasn't how great Trump is, it was how it seems like the Alt-left get a free pass for acts of violence in the press and anyone who is even slightly right of centre gets painted as a nazi. Being of Jewish descent I'm obviously not fond of the hard right.
  19. I guess my beef lately ( not with you eggs) has been how slanted the media is against Trump and how they seem to get away with it and drag a large proportion of the public with them. Not that Trump is my particular cup of tea but from where I'm sat he's certainly not as bad as he's painted out to be. The Charlottesville thing being a case in point.
  20. I never said it did.
  21. You mean like the wonderful job the Clinton Foundation did in Haiti after the earthquake? Socialism doesn't own the copyright on helping people.
