  1. Sounds like a great set up and system to work to. What about a laminated sheet (from an existing template) for each separate system?
  2. Pity poor oppressed Prince Harry - UnHerd UNHERD.COM The Duke of Sussex's latest political intervention reveals a man caught up in the social justice religion Very well written article... I had a lot of respect for Harry going to Afghanistan etc... The thought of what he is now being turned into is less than palatable..
  3. Ive been working on fundraising and grant applications for our charity during the lockdown with varying degrees of success. (as well as a few climbing jobs) Our tree and landscaping businesses are social enterprises operating in the domestic sector so they have just about weathered the storm for now. I’ve done a few more LOLER inspections picking up a few more clients. Charities are going to be hit particularly hard this Christmas as most supermarkets aren’t allowing any in store collections. All of the initial grants and help will have dried up by then.
  4. Not sure where you’re based. Making a template listing your kit with blank squares for new acquisitions would help. That way you just fill in the template at each inspection. 10 pages of Krabs for one kit seems very excessive!! That would be around 100 items on the sheets that I use. (I thought I was bad, lol) Maybe streamline your kit ?? [emoji51]
  5. A paper copy of an up to date LOLER examination kept in the office/house and a laminated copy kept in your kit-bag would suffice. Trying to keep individual record sheets for each individual piece of kit sounds like a nightmare.
  6. Slow puncture,, really hard to find where the air is escaping
  7. The Rhandirmwyn Oak estimated to be approximately 600-700 years old. Quite remarkable to see a tree of this calibre in a hedgerow, right on the side of a road. Well off the beaten track, near Llandovery Wales. Taking a detour was well worth it.

You forgot the ‘Kramer Carrera’ Stubby... bit surprised with you being an axe man, an all.

Not wanting to be ‘negative’ about a battery saw... but it weighs about the same as a 562xp with only 2/3 of the power. Don’t think I’d be looking at one to replace an existing petrol groundsaw. I know some of the battery top handles are making their mark but battery technology still has a lot of catching up to do. IMO.
  10. Some recent shots of Major Oak at Sherwood and a couple of its neighbours... So sad to hear about Gary... that was a long battle he fought with very real courage.. RIP.
  11. Not really my genre, but it put a smile on my face...
  12. Looks like Bham could be next... the infection rate has completely spiralled out of control from 18 people in 100,000 to 28 in 100,000
  13. We have a MS462, it’s a great saw, weighs about the same as the Husky 562xp with noticeably more power and great balance on a 20” bar.
  14. Make sure you keep applying the chainbrake. Make sure you clip up the saw on your harness before disconnecting it from the line that it is sent up on. People that fail usually do so for silly mistakes that put them in danger, not because their their cuts aren’t perfect. Use your ropes to lock you into a good solid work position so you have proper control of the saw. Take your time, relax. The assessor will be looking at the performance as a whole and whether the candidate can climb and cut safely as a beginner.
  15. A major Covid milestone that you won't find on the BBC - The Post UNHERD.COM On 19th August, England passed a significant milestone, which since today we can report with some confidence: there were zero reported deaths following a positive Covid-19 test in hospitals or other settings, for the first time since 7th March. This is a remarkable event, but check the homepage of the BBC or any other mainstream [...]Read More...
  16. Yes, our guys did a conny hedge reduction and face-up in a garden with plastic grass. Every time they rested the long reach hedge cutter on the ‘grass’ they melted it with the exhaust. The customer originally was ok with us re-laying the damaged surface but the supplier insisted on one of their teams do the work. £6k ... claimed on our insurance in the end. Horrible stuff, wouldn’t go anywhere near it in the future..
  17. I use a paintbrush in a jar of oil and water stirred up to paint the cutters as I sharpen them. Works a treat to keep them cool.
  18. Very reassuring to know that I am scientifically proven to be mal-adaptively disordered in my personality. Almost as reassuring to know that statistically I have a 99.998% chance of surviving COVID-19
  19. Haha... that’s the reason we only booked a week. They wanted both kidneys for a fortnights hire... You could probably get a week in the Maldives for the cost of a fortnights boat hire. Nowt cheap about canal holidays...
