  1. Thanks for this.. Yes it sounds like the same one (bright green) Is there a guide that stops the grinding wheel from taking too much off? Thanks Timon
  2. Hi Jon. Thanks mate, someone gave us one free, haven't set it up yet but we've got loads of old chains that need doing. I prefer hand sharpening now that I've really got the hang of it. Timon
  3. Someone donated us a german electric chain sharpener by a company called FloraBest... I think they were on sale in Aldi... Has anyone heard of/used one?
  4. Yup... My 560 runs rings round our 441. No contest.

Hi. can you tell me the torque settings for the blade bolts on the TW150DBH Thanks Timon
  7. Not everyone REALLY wants to change sadly. We've had our fair share of disappointments. But the ones who go on to succeed make it well worth it. I had lots of help along the way. I agree, it's good to be able to put something back.
  8. That's good to hear. We're getting some good results with our guys. 2 are doing their climbing tickets in a couple of weeks and another doing his groundsaw. Not so long ago they were addicted and without hope. Good on you Mike for giving someone a chance.
  9. Sounds like a good initiative to give some practical skills training to those who could really use it. How many people are released from prison with absolutely no hope of turning their lives around.? Certainly beats the 2 week "bricklaying" course offered to prisoners over here in the UK. Nice one
  10. The illuminati have got him (Monsanto to you and me)

    Sugihara bars

Really excellent bars and great service. 540xp 14" pro lite 560xp. 18" pro lite Wouldn't use anything else now, I've been converted
  12. You could always run a flail mower over it..., much quicker than strimming and it obliterates everything (more or less)
  13. I used to strim a lot of rough sites and used to use a Stihl FS450 with Oregon flexi-blade 2.65mm, it used to be great but the lads I know who use it now have said that it is different nowadays and snaps easily. It might be that they have changed the material they make it out of.
  14. Nice looking truck Ste, what lump has it got?
  15. Flat out here, did 10 quotes on Saturday and booked in 8 jobs. 2 teams booked up nearly through July.
  16. Nice work Reg. Bet that kind of truck is affordable to run over there too.
  17. We used to dream of a hovel...... We lived in a crack house in the middle of a storm drain... My old man used to blow all the drug money on baby food.... Kids today think they have it hard .........,
  18. Love my Hitch Climber Rapide Very versatile. Attach a lanyard to the middle hole and get some very acrobatic work positioning
  19. Or more likely, you won't be able to secure enough work to keep you going.... Spending a couple of years working for a good firm would be an excellent foundation for future self employment. I'm not trying to put you off but there is much more to running a small business than just cutting trees. Spending a couple of years working for someone else will give you a good idea of what is really involved.
  20. I thought you were diving for the chogs..,
  21. That is a cool photo Joe!
  22. I did say bare minimum There are always other qualifications and skills you can pick up along the way. You could always hire a contract climber for windblown/dangerous/large rigging jobs to start with and work up to it as you go.
  23. Bare minimum to climb and cut would be CS38 access tree with rope and harness./perform aerial rescue. Then you would need : CS39 use of chainsaw from a rope and harness. When climbing at work you always need an additional person with CS38 on site in case of an emergency should an aerial rescue be necessary.
  24. Wish I could remember that far back...
  25. Parish magazine, barbers shop mirrors. Newsagents window ads. Local widows club. Etc..
