  1. My local dealer swapped mine even though I hadn't bought it there. I guess it depends on how helpful they are feeling at the time.
  2. That would explain it.., 🙂
  3. So you've been getting mk 2 for mk 2 replacements? You shouldn't have any problems with the mk 3. I haven't heard of a single one cracking.
  4. This happened last week in Solihull.
  5. We have a big oak stem coming down in Solihull in a few weeks if anyone is interested in milling it. Either PM me or phone me on 07595119775. Thanks Timon
  6. We had another job postpone so they took the opportunity to shift most of it. They left the big bits to fell the stem onto (I hope!)
  7. Hi all, the lads cleared most of it today but there will be more when the stem comes down in a few weeks. I'll post it up when it's available Thanks. (It may be getting milled on site but that's another thread!)
  8. As others have said the general method for calculating the SWL/WLL Is 5:1 of the MBS on metal hardware (most and 10:1 of the MBS of textiles. Another thing to take into account is that you must measure the peak impact force and not merely the load mass. There can be a big difference especially in negative rigging situations.
  9. No. We can sort something out. It's still there.
  10. Had my 540 for almost 2 years now and the AV Spring is just starting to go. Otherwise it's been faultless. Are they made in China now?? (Under licence of course) I must have happened upon a good one.....
  11. Cracking machine you have there Stefan, but surely you don't work on the sabbath as well?? 🙂
  12. Je suis knackered today, Mick. Thankfully it's quotes day today. The stem is getting felled and possibly milled on site in a few weeks.
  13. Big oak dismantle today. Rob did the climbing and the guys worked like Trojans. Just about everything had to be rigged. The tree had suffered some major limb failures and the customer didn't want to live with the risk anymore. The decision was made to remove it.
  14. Thanks guys. It's made me think twice about the colour now. Didn't realise it was a mk3. Drives great for its age and runs like dream. Legally carries more than a tranny too.
  15. Doing an emergency job for a customer on a large oak tomorrow. Timber is free to a good home. Collection only 07595119775
  16. Just bought this. Going to put a lid on the roof and paint it olive drab and black. Only 190k miles so it's only just run in Will post pics as it progresses
  17. Get really excellent at bypass cuts that hold until the saw is clipped up then hand snap the branches off. After climbing for 63 years it becomes second nature.
  18. A bit of coffin and sputtering on start up but if you bury the throttle it dies down......

It was an interesting and thought provoking 16 mins though, Reg. Thanks for taking the time to explain how it has made a difference.
  20. I'll stick with Richie on the vimtos!Sounds like it could get quite messy 🍾🍹🍸🍷🍻🍺👝👛👜🤕🤕🤕.. 🙂
  21. It'll be a pricey round! Better get some extra grinding jobs in before you come, Stef

    New old saw...

I'd have to agree with Stubby on that one. 346xp. Outlasted all the other saws we have had over the years. Would love to see what a ported one is like.
  23. I'm not your son and I don't hide behind words or a keyboard .... You were the OP and you said that you wanted to know that you had done the right thing. With respect... A number of members, myself included didn't think that you had and expressed their opinions. This is a public forum after all.
  24. But if he is right then you would say that! 🙂🙂
