  1. I'd rather have wind power than import gas from the like of Qatar and Saudi.... Using gas and oil etc is basically like giving ISIS guns and bullets... I understand that no fishing is allowed amongst the wind turbines and sea life really benefits.
  2. Tbh, I don't think anyone has said anything to destroy anyone's reputation? I just saw a guy asking what the going rate for his job was.
  3. Does this guy stay near to you? I think the way a small claims court works is that it is held at the court where you lodge it. If the other guy stays miles away he would have to take a day off work to contest it. If he doesn't attend you win the case. In this day and age he could struggle to get a mortgage or loan if he has had a claim against him. IMHO, if you have a email confirming the order you've a good chance of getting the money through a small claims court. Does your local university have a law department that could help?
  4. Have you considered selling your system as a lone working tool? We have guys that work in remote areas. It's always a concern if they take unwell etc.
  5. I was breaking up old pallets at the weekend for firewood In all honesty pallet wood burns with a cheery flame and is roaring after 5 minutes It also adds a touch of class to any hearth.
  6. tbh, I think we are in the early stages of a world war between radical Islam and secular democracies. "Normal" politicians have their heads in the sand and lie to the electorate about the problems. Does anyone really believe that "mental health problems" are the reason so many European are getting killed by members of a certain religion? At least Trump admits there is a problem. That's the reason I would vote for him.
  7. I think he’s a bit of a buffoon and I think a President should have had previous experience as a politician. However he raises important questions about how certain cultures integrate in the West….. He’s certainly a lot better than the rest of the politicians that declare Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam…… I think we’d all agree that something is “broken” with politics when someone like Trump could realistically be the next American President.
  8. If I was you I'd be looking for a job with the local council. A lot of organisations like hospitals/ colleges etc employ groundstaff. How about trying them?
  9. Aspenarb, that kitchen worktop looks really good. What wood is it?
  10. Tbh, I can't really see the point of watching people run/ swim/row/ jump etc... It just seems a bit boring.... The only good part is watching birds in tight Lycra.
  11. Always good to see someone join the site to recommend a service that has nothing to do with the thread.... What's for tea tonight? A nice SPAM fritter?
  12. It seems like removing the paint is expensive and could involve a lot of hard work. There is also no guarantee of the results... How about seeing if the local architectural salvage yard has something similar? I'd be trying petrol to remove it. Or leave it outside to the elements for a couple of years.
  13. I've got a report in front of me where someone has used Google maps... Google seem fairly relaxed about people using their maps. https://www.google.co.uk/permissions/geoguidelines.html
  14. How about taking a screenshot from Google maps?
  15. Tbh, I think something like this has to be put down to experience... I'd leave bad feedback and forget it. What was being sold anyway? If it was a family heirloom I could type of understand not selling it cheap.
  16. I've never used a Kania trap but have been successful with live catch traps. It's a hassle checking them every day but if you've prebaited the trap for a week or so you're more or less guaranteed to catch them when you do set the trap. I find peanuts are a good bait A shotgun is also good for getting rid of them.
  17. Yeah we do need a decent Opposition for democracy to work. It just seems Labour have given up on winning elections and are content being on the sidelines. There does seem a disconnect between Labour and traditionally Labour voters. I can see UKIP becoming the real Opposition.
  18. Anyone else having a sly chuckle at how Corbyn is pulling the Labour Party apart? I can see Labour splitting into two and giving us Tory governments for the rest of time.
  19. How about using boiling water?
  20. I know where you are coming from. However a lot of the Middle East carriers get free/ cheap fuel... It is preposterous that someone filing their chainsaw up with petrol pays more fuel tax than someone filling up their 747.
  21. How about approaching the local forest managers in your area? Perhaps Scottish Woodlands, Tillhill, Bell Ingram?
  22. The problem of taxing aviation fuel is that airplanes would just get fuelled up when they land in foreign airports where there is no fuel tax... The government has a tax (air passenger duty) on air tickets but it's not high enough imho.... Nicola Sturgeon plans to reduce air passenger duty for Scottish airports. It would be good for Scottish airports but is hardly environmentally friendly. For a lot of British people it's hard to get to London. Any new airport should be in the centre of the country next to a high speed rail line.
  23. LOL, this is when you have to laugh at the Guardian. 100 people killed in Europe over the last two weeks by terrorists, but the Guardian writes an article about hate crime that focuses on wolf whistlers. The sooner that newspaper goes out of business the better.
  24. I know someone that was there at the attacks. She said there was shooting at one of the side roads as well. People were running away from the shooting to where the truck attack was happening.
  25. They believe their holy book was written by god. I can absolutely guarantee that if a scholar starts rewriting it he will be killed. If a scholar starts criticising it he will get killed. How many times do you have to get punched before you realise you're in a fight?
