  1. I cant wait until the Hungarians have their referendum on Sunday about accepting migrants into Hungary. We all know the Hungarians will vote against accepting the migrants The referendum should help stop the madness of Europe accepting migrants that barge their way into Europe. It should also help bring the demise of the EU.
  2. It is very impressive. They are selling them on etsy for £47. I want one but cant decide if it's the type of thing that loses its novelty value quickly. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/233179042/a-cube-in-a-cube-from-engineer-bruns?ref=market
  3. My dad had a yacht and it involved a lot more cost and effort than you would think. You should maybe think of going to a yacht chandlers to see how much sailing stuff costs. A new 20hp outboard might cost £2k, a spare outboard maybe another £800. Having said that, a day on the water in a summer day is priceless
  4. How tall are the trees? I normally find trees can take more shade than you think. I also think surrounding vegetation gives a warmer micro climate. Unless they are completely smothered in vegetation they should be OK. Anyway, i'd be going down the slasher route instead of chemical. Weed Slasher Are there deer in your woodland? Those 600mm (?) tubes aren't good against deer.
  5. if your mate went round all the gardening businesses in his area and told them all about the contracts he previously worked on there is very little his ex employer could do about it. It's more or less impossible to prove what was said in a conversation over a pint.
  6. On site we use acrow props for this sort of thing.
  7. I would have thought grinder teeth would have a fair scrap value? Are the teeth not made from tungsten carbide? If they are they have a scrap value of £8 a kg. Tungsten Carbide Scrap Price UK
  8. As a customer I wouldn't mind some small bits as they are good to get the fire going.
  9. In my experience local newspapers love this type of story. We all know that no one will ever be charged for killing the tree, but some karma would be served if the community knew there was a tree killer in their midst.
  10. Why not work a few months in arb before you take the course? you might not like the work.
  11. it seems you are a workaholic (for better or worse).why not get your fiancé to work with you? that means you spend time with her and you work as well?
  12. tbh, if you were a Saudi teen you'd think that was fun as well. They can't drink or get a girlfriend. But they can indulge in bum sex with their mates and drive like lunatics.
  13. if you're lucky conjugal rights might have been restored by Christmas!
  14. Lol, on the bright side when you get divorced you'll have all the time in the world to work
  15. Did you have a good relationship with the owner? If you did I'd contact her directly. Has the owner got family you could chat to?
  16. however not many people reading this thread know the ratio of short days to long days.

I think the problem is that it is too easy for multinational companies to move profits to the lowest tax country. All they have to do is get one part of the company to buy goods at an inflated price from another part of the company in a lower tax zone. It would type of make sense if all countries had the same tax rates.

Lol, the Irish authorities are unhappy about Apple having to pay them this money. The Irish have a low tax rate to encourage businesses to set up in Ireland. With this ruling it might push businesses away..
  21. Why bother with a top pond? Why not just dam the stream and have a hydro scheme there?
  22. As others have said this already happens. I think a drawback is that the process loses quite a lot of energy.... There are also limited valleys where you can have two dams.
  23. Tbh, this thread shows why Brexit should be a good thing. I'm surprised how little arb workers are paid. Anyone remember 20 years ago there was no hand car washes and cars were washed by machines? It was only when we got mass migration that hand car washes became economic again.
  24. Construction workers can work for years for the same client. It's what I do. Tbh, I looked at the criteria of when an sub contractor is really an employee reducing income tax. I thought I was clearly an employee, however I spoke to two accountants and they both said I was a sub contractor....
  25. I 100% agree we should invest in tidal. Solar and wind still have their place though. The main drawback of these power sources (unreliable power generation) can be partially overcome by storage and flexible pricing. Ok, there is no brilliant way to store electricity at the moment. However with smart electricity meters the price of electricity can be altered so that electricity is cheaper when the wind is blowing. At the moment wind turbines are switched off when there is too much wind... If the electricity price was lowered at these times people would do their washing etc when it was cheaper.
