  1. As I get older I am getting worse, but Steve, would you expect it to run a tank of fuel with no impulse, and run normally ? Off to bed soon bugger all on the telly.
  2. Damn strange it would run a tank of fuel no problem, no convinced.
  3. Interesting proposition, Aspen the wonder cure, no chance!
  4. Yep that's how they are, but take the bugger away and see what happens, you see a lot of it where people blast 120 psi through it and wonder why it doesn't run properly.
  5. If the check valve is not closing off then air from the Venturi will enter the main jet causing it to run lean.
  6. I would suspect the main jet check valve, H screw out, pipe over H jet opening, thumb over the fuel feed to the main jet, now blow suck, you should feel the check valve open and close, no close and it’s not working.
  7. There has never been a steel cage bearing on the 550/560.

    66 problem

I remember the Husqvarna 66, it was built in Yugoslavia with many parts sourced there, just a copy of the 266.

    Stihl masonry saw

Diamond chains are always run fairly loose, and rely on PLENTY of water to reduce heat and wear, I would say they are not using enough water, or the water channel in the bar is blocked. Is it Stihl, Husqvarna or ICS chain?
  10. Metering diaphragm hardened so no longer contacting the metering lever, the joys of todays fuel.
  11. The 120 mk 2 was the 235/236 all from the American factory and all entry level saws with a fixed oil pump, so there is no adjustment.
  12. I guess it’s one of those crappy pressure/vac oil tank things, so I would guess the non return valve is not working especially if you blasted a pressure through it.
  13. The only thing worse is a bloody petrol Flymo!

    266se cylinder

So, the 266 had a closed transfer port cylinder, and a windowed piston, the 61 had an open transfer port cylinder and a non windowed piston, you could fit the windowed piston in both 266 and 61, however you cannot fit a non windowed piston into a 266. So I have no idea what these different cylinders and pistons are about.

    266se cylinder

One for the 266, and one for the 61 with open transfers.
  16. The only time I have seen that was with a Chinese cylinder and piston on a 357xp and it was the piston that wore not the Gudgeon pin.

    266se cylinder

Yes you will need to change the induction block, gaskets and screws, can’t think of any other reason it will not fit.
  18. Seconded very good guy.
  19. Another quality cylinder from China, unfortunately you get what you pay for, if your not happy with it send it back.
  20. Pleasant is correct and I am fairly sure the warranty changed to one year.
  21. Yes fit them back into the piston, the picture is a bit deceiving as to how distorted they are, the steel rings were always a bit odd, hence they changed to a cast ring piston.
  22. Those are steel rings, will they not re twist? I confess I have never seen that before.
  23. Oh that is interesting, it sounds like you have the later updated filter and filter housing, strange because I thought that did not come till much late, but was offered as an update kit.
  24. Good to hear it is going well, perhaps your a convert, the yellow filter is 44 micron so there should be no issues with it, unfortunately it is no longer available and will sub to the orange frame, you could always update it to the screw down filter, same as the 550 mk 11.
  25. 2020 would likely make them late mark 1, so I would guess they have the orange frame air filter, so a very good clean , do your machine service, then bury the saw full bar length into a log to reset the carb which may have leaned off to compensate for a blocked filter, they should have most of the updates as they are late machines.
