  1. Not a chance they are original tyres, not half worn after 9000 hours.
  2. Track rods for telehandlers vary from about 150 to 600 quid. Just beware of cheaper ones as they will be sh1t, you do get what you pay for. 1500 for 4 probably 24 inch tyres, wow, what make was that, again, sounds too good of a price. Jcb526 is a brilliant piece of kit. Beware wear in headstocks from abusive former keepers. Hope this helps
  3. Who really "cuts their arm to the bone" then runs to the doctor, then drives to boots, then drives ten miles to hospital? Hmmmm me thinks youd be a tad loght headed after all that.
  4. Agreed, what comes around goes around.
  5. I use rosate 360, a squirt of fairy liquid (other washing up liquids are available) which just acts as a whetter and a glug of liquid fert. Was told that by a spraying contractor and it works. The fert stimulises the plant to take the glyphosate in quicker. From experience the first week the weed does nothing, day eight to ten it goes darker, eleven to fourteen goes yellow and falls over. For nettles add a bit of 2.4-d as, again, in my experience, glyphosate wont always knock a mature nettle down in one go. Also good for docks.
  6. Just a hint for everyone, points dont make prizes
  7. I need some of that for my number plates
  8. Normally that wouldnt be a very nice think to say, but quid pro row
  9. Ah man that sucks. What is the matter with folk? Do you think they were of no fixed abode, house with wheels brigade?
  10. I wasn't about in the 60,s but remember the last bout of foot and mouth. I had to go and fix a tele handler that had been pushing up the funeral pyres. My god did it stink. Didn't bother taking overalls back for washing, just chucked them in the bucket and they got burned too. Never forget that smell. Most annoying part is that if you would have cooked the meat it would have killed the disease. Jeyes fluid. Every time you had to go to a farm for a break down you had to scrub and disinfect the van, and again on the way out.
  11. Steam engines My family have had a few, hot oil, soot, fire ace. Cow pooh, when they first go out on fresh grass. What do you give a cow thats been out on fresh grass? Loads of room rearward.
  12. Have you got the van fixed yet? What was it? Just being nosey
  13. From experience customers arent too upset about delays, if, a) they are informed and b) you are honest. Delays happen its just one of those things. Glad all sorted now.
  14. Dont think i have ever really seen one, if i have probably assumed it was some dodgy antifreeze or some gone off tyre slime. Some pictures would be good if possible please.
  15. I have had sucess with a fine stainless mesh, i just make a stainless frame that clips over the rad grill and simply pop it off and blow it off when choked. Mainly on tractors and plant but no reason why it shouldnt work on other things. Coming back to what others have said about a reversable fan, i have used several of these, again mostly on tractors, the ones i have used work on a compressed air system. Via a timer and solenoid it reverses the pitch of the fan so blows instead of sucks. Very good and really efficient, however you need a soirce pf air, not a problem on tractors as nearly all have air brakes etc on. Also fitted one to my uncles willabongo (?) chipper. Something like a 600hp man engine. What a weapon that was. I wired it to the water temperature sensor, a timer and remote in the loader. I think the kit was something like 3 grand though. Food for thought. Hope it helps.
  16. Wouldnt bother having livery again, you only get do gooders and old farts with nothing better to do ringing up complaining, errrr your parked on my kerb, blah blah driving inconsideratly. Just go for pictures with no names, no numbers or details.
  17. As a fairly young man, growing up in a fairly quiet world, i have absolutely no idea of the fear, courage and loss faced by the families and comrades of the time. Unfortunatly not many of the veterans left and those that are dont talk about it much. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all service men and women of the past, the present, and unfortunatly the future. Lest we forget. As a very proud Englishman i am proud to fly the flag. However i think we should all bear in mind, there is always two sides to a war.
  18. I agree with biggarlogs, its better to wait a bit as most chemicals will have a not positive effect on the new grass, i use lawn sand regularly on my front garden as moss is a constant problem, 3-0-0-7Fe, but for general broadleaf applications grazon can be fierce expensive, i find a generic 2,4-D just as good. Technically i think you need a PA1 and or 2 to apply these, as well as grazon.
  19. Wet, grey, overcast, miserable.
  20. From memory control unit is available seperate for about 300 quid, but will still need programming. Sorry. Could always be worse, could be a vw transporter
  21. Good thought, i had an ex royal mail van that snapped the transponder key so i just taped it to the spare standard key, worked and was free.
  22. Hot steam clean, Allow to try, Using one of them cheap paraffin spray guns blow a generous amount of 50/50 red diesel hydraulic oil over everything. Kept all our gear including combines, balers etc etc rust free and moving for years
  23. Probably a bosch vp44 pump, they say you cant remove the immobiliser without a laptop, hah, yes you can. Been there, done that. Had a transit a few years ago where the immobiliser ring on the ignition barrel used to turn itself round, usually a red or blue ring around where you put the key in, try and turn it. If tight probably not that, but you never know.
  24. Do you need two for a pair? Or is bollock plural?
  25. Signed. The health benefits to operator and environment are clear. Surely the government should be encouraging people to do the right thing, eg, reduced tax on low emissions cars etc etc. so why are they adding to the price of alkylate fuels? I personally have never used them, however, after emptying my can on the weekend i will be trying aspen. Have read so many good things about it, can my health not afford to try it? Has anyone ever had any problems with these fuels?
