From experience those graphs don't look like there are any statistical proven correlations, data looks to random. What are the r-squared value of the lines?

What the meter and experience tells me, I'm not going to start weighing and oven drying logs. 14 months to dry sub 4" diameter larch billets in a barn with open sides is more than enough. I have a load of larch in the stack next which I felled and split this Jan/Feb which burns as hot and clean as you would expect, pale wood, bark falling off, etc. Thanks for the replies, have a load of sitka which I'll mix in to keep the temp up without having to have the air vents fully open and see if that works

MC content is from splitting and measuring (sapwood and heartwood). The wood has been cut into small logs (<4"dia) and dried in a barn for over a year now so plenty time for softwood. When you split the log you can see the resin, bark is still "super-glued" to the wood, etc. Got about 2 months supply so checking first as I have not been able to find too much info.

Got a fair bit of larch that I felled and split last Aug, although it is dry (16-18%) it still has a lot of resin in it. Is it ok to burn in a wood stove or should I leave it for another season? I have tried burning a bit and it doesn't seem to burn as clean and needs a lot more air to get it going.

If you're only after £100 a week then maybe put an ad in Gumtree for unseasoned, unsplit logs, buyer collects. Maybe the wrong time of year but there are plenty of people interested in cheap logs and cutting them themselves. £60 for a 2ton pile of soft, £100 for hard, you might make more profit as well as no need for vehicle, website, bags, etc and it will save you a lot of time.

Looked like a logosol Credit to the old guy, building a log cabin with green wood of that size with no pulleys and no one else to help you lift the logs. You don't need Sky to watch it, all tv programs are free to stream online somewhere you just need to know where to look

I'm pretty sure the boffins at M.I.T. or Caltech could quite easily fit a battery chainsaw to a drone. Would still need a human operator though.

I think the criticism was mainly due to the fact that people didn't know at the time if it was a political reason or not, which given his views on N.Ireland, etc wouldn't of surprised many. Speaking of sport there was a lot of criticism with the captain of the English cricket team (one dayers) Eoin Morgan who refuses to sign the national anthem due to political reasons, being born in Dublin.

I was told to cut the toes (or ears?) off beech and a few others if felling of mill wood as they have a tendency to tear up the stem reducing the quality of the product.

Yeah I don't think you come across unseasoned nets that often, maybe because of 2 reasons I've heard from others on the forum. a) By the time the logs (esp oak) have seasoned the nets have started to degrade. b) As the logs dry and shrink there becomes a noticeable gap in the nets, think one guy said he had to reopen all the nets and put more logs in them as people were complaining.

I'd say a seasoned net would weigh about 10kg, unseasoned closer to 15kg which corresponds to the 35ish nets per loose cube stated previously. Unseasoned oak is estimated to weigh about 950kg per m3 so just weigh enough nets to get good average and work it out from that.

Don't actually agree with you on this one. Despite being a woodland owner I don't think it too unreasonable to expect me to walk of the woodlands before an event to make sure there are no imminent risks to the guests and be prepared to cancel an event if the weather conditions worsen.

I have a pallet log store like the one you're considering and if building on soft ground I would recommend using fencing stobs through the upright pallets as they fit prefect and hammer in to match the pallet height nicely

Maybe best contacting NFU about woodland insurance, it's cheap and once you get it you can ask them as may questions as you like. There are some examples of risk assessments for woodland events you can google which give you a good idea of things to consider though. But at the very least consider hanging branches, visable fractures, max wind speed, etc (ie if something happened could it have been prevented?)
