They are like anything else reliable if you look after them. Most reliability issues come from people not looking after their kit.

I have been running a 130 crew cab tipper with chip box and it toes a 150 VTR and soon to be 230 VTR, I have lots of tip sites so not an issue. It's a really good combo in my opinion for the work I do. Make sure you fit a Heavy Duty anti roll bar on the rear if you get one as its made a huge difference for me

Surley then the key is to keep the treeth sharp? I turn mine as soon as they start to dull, that way there is less stress on the machine. The bit that I always hated on pedestrian grinders is the locked wheel digging into the ground while grinding, it's a pita, this is where a turntable machine wins points IMO.

But far easier to swing side to side than a non turntable machine, the wheel does not dig itself into a hole like a non turntable machine. As for the head, well I have owned a 2010 and I prefer the bandit. I have not found that the wheel bounces off the stump. Yes you do have to work it but with the bandit you can work it with one hand, effortless. The best thing is if people try both and see what they prefer.

I have had a few different grinders over the years but I am so impressed by the HB20, it can tackle any size stump, sure it will make you sweat and keep you in shape un like the lazy remote control machines. Get one on Demo.

AUS for me, a large Silky fits on the end and a good lopper head and a hook. Great for rope placement, hanger removal and pruning.

You a clever so and so arnt you mountain man. What you fail to see is the kit I have is the best.....for my business. I have had a large grinder, big chipper, Valmet crane tractor, transit tipper and numerous other toys but I realised that they were not the best for my buissnes model. The set up I have is the best for me and that is all that matters, so take the pee all you like as I'm very happy with how I roll. -

But will go into lots of places a 4012 won't fit and the HB20 can grind anything a 4012 will;) -

If I go to price a stump job and it's just a stump I put a price on it that I want to earn for the trouble of doing it. If it's a small tree and stump then I charge what I want to get from the job and I carry on like this as the stumps get bigger. I just charge what I want to get out of the job. -

I ran a Carlton 4012 radio remote for a couple of years it was great and effortless but I bet i never used it more than 20 times due to access issues. I still had a pedestrian grinder but only a 13hp job. Doing big stumps with that was nasty. With the HB20 it does not matter about the size and it is pretty effortless to use but will get in loads of spots big grinders won't.
