I've done it a few times and if you are mechanically minded then its pretty straight forward. It helps having 2 people to lift the fly wheel while you get the bolts in though. If you can use a windy gun it makes it quicker. Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)

I had a nice 53 reg VW Golf R32, I had it from new, it was re mapped and fumed to 280 BHP, well nice but had to go when I kept going too fast. I would only buy new, if it was one of a pair it could have a hairline crack and then you re build it and it goes again you just wasted your money. I really don't know why people want to fix important bits of kit like a chipper on the cheap?? It's tax deductable and worth looking after your kit.
