  1. I am being told by a client ( camping and caravanning club) that I need to join constructionline to carry on getting work from them, I do maybe £500 a year work for them. I contacted constructionline and found its £90 + VAT to join and I have to go through SSIP?? Whatever that is?? Like Robert has said it just seems another way of taking money off me. Any help would be appreciated. Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)

  13. I have to laugh when I read posts like this, you want a cheap way to sharpen stumpgrinder teeth because the way you have been doing them doesn't do the right. Buy the propper disc for the job and that's it sorted. End of. I have a diamond disc and its great and for the money is good value. Buy cheap buy twice. Like my mate he bought a cheap waterproof jacket and the moaned when he got soaked. Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)

  15. I have a job taking down a large conny in a garden, its next to a hedge and then there is a railway line, it is not electric and maybe has 20 trains per day going past. The tree is about 15 foot from the line, the take down is straight forward enough but I'm just wondering what the regulations on this are? Can we just crack on or is there loads of red tape etc? Any help will be appreciated. Hodge. Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)

Call local tree firms asking for any work, brash dragging to start and get you foot in the door. Good luck. Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)

  21. The stuff I buy is straight and ready to go through my processor but the tree surgery stuff is bent but as Steve says if you get it ready on site its easier back at the yard. I also have a tractor mounts splitter for the big stuff, its all money at the end of the day:) Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)
  22. Migs for thinner stuff, arc will do thicker stuff, I have both and they are are handy to have around. It's worth learning to weld properly so not just bird shitting. Sent from Hodge's eye phone using the new fancy Arbtalk Mobile App:)
