What wood is/was used for the wooden decking planks. Some smallholder I work for sometimes for has ans old approx 22" by 8" that he uses ocassionally with his fordson on that needs a new deck as planks rotted ans missing etc Suppose planks aren't used theese days as ply or metal is alot cheaper?

To get a a meadow to be really sucessefully I reckon you need go through the steps below & have the equipment to do a proper job otherwise will just be still grass dominant..... Alot of goverment funding invovled in this project....

Lattest disaster is due there right wing nationalist anti lockdown populist goverments ignorance over covid. Very similar to how UK messed it up & they have less leeway health capacity to respond being a poorer country. 1 billion people may never reach western standards of living as there isn't the global resources availble for that. More likely UK will end up more like India is now in the future. Dug one out that was similar in garden @ home . Then turned it upside down in the hole looks like the pic below now a stumpery. Was a 30" lodge pole pine that was windblown.

On wikipedia entry for pine martens European pine marten - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG Assumed they would had referenced the info from a proper source but can't find one so looks like a mistake.... Just looking up the size of them didn't relalize they are huge compared to other mustelids so its likely the wrong info. On the wildcat page in wiki it is the opposite way round.... Reds sometimes are black in north wales 😄 Seen some in north wales nearly this black apprently they imported a batch from czech repulbic to repopulate and the the czech ones were dark brown /black Wildcats supposedly eat polecats. EDIT: Meant to write Wildcats supposedly eat pine martens😏

Pine martens supposedly help alot controlling grey numbers dunno why they don't breed them and realease all over? Probably annoy game keepers.... Hope the soil ain't a heavy clay. 😬 Very hard work to make a go of market gardening and labour intensive for little return as food is so cheap. Only places i know who do it manage to get by by running courses and free labour from woofers etc.

Leaving some Ivy and deadwood fallen trees are good things for nature etc, felling some of the healthy trees are easier to process into firewood... ea4300 is a good saw for £319.
