There are some cardboard ones but they won't last that long and are expensive Beware that some ones marketed as eco were/are just plastic without UV stabilizer in so they to brake down faster into mircoplastics so are worse.   11. Had some seasoned elm rounds as blocks lasted yrs eventually the ends got worn down in middle like saucers so had to gradually cut them shorter. Seasoned scots pine goes hard also and spongy texture makes a good chopping block Yeah agree

  18. Used to mess around with sleges and wegdes but now found its easier put the awkward bits too one side and use a chainsaw to noodle them up. Don't use the x27 that much find its too abit too lightweight for most stuff unlesss smaller diameter rounds with prefect grain. Prefer a maul with more weight in the head. Takes less effort to use than the x27 as you don't need to hit the wood as hard.
