    Heterobasidion annosum Growing on a spruce log. One question - fungi app says it's parasitic and attacks the cambial area, but can it also grow on dead wood?

    I saw an advert not so long ago for lambing holidays where you pay the farmer to stay in his holiday cottage and then help him to lamb his sheep all weekend. Similar sort of thing, but the farmer is happy cos he has someone paying to help him and the townies who are paying are happy cos they get to cuddle baby lambs ( pity it's not like it looks on the telly), everyone's a winner!

    Just an idea me and a mate were talking about last night. There seems to be a shortage of chippers to hire around here and I know a couple of lads who would hire one a lot. Would it be worth buying a chipper and hiring it out? Do I need insurance for it or any license? Does anyone do this? I would only hire it to people I know and I can do most of the maintenance myself. Thoughts and ideas much appreciated

    Argh! My missus is ill today so I have to look after my 2. Tom is going to nursery school wonder if I can find some random on the way back to look after baby Sam? So I can go in my shed and fiddle with my old saws!
