  1. Best trip I had in mine was a 2 weeker on the West Coast of Ireland kitesurfing. Ferry from Holyhead to Dublin and then aimed for Inch Strand on the SW. Moved on every day heading North and stayed in the most remote & beautiful places and surfed everyday. Did over 800 miles and it was the most chilled time ever - no agenda, no schedule, no clock, just let's see what's round the next bend........ Had my missus with me (our first time away as girlfriend/boyfriend) and the bus didn't have a poptop, so the 2 weeks were spent in a kinda hunched way.......not that we stood up that much :-) The feeling of freedom when out on a roadtrip is awesome, but when not in use they are a financial burden. Wouldn't swap the memories spent in that van for anything! Russ
  2. Campervan - it's a passion that needs fuelling by cash. Russ
  3. So is there a Ranger (pickup style) / Chipper combo out there? Thanks in anticipation - Russ
  4. Not a job where you'd want to forget a bit of vital kit in the toolbag........... Russ
  5. What he said - when you're thirsty it's too late, you are already dehydrating. Russ
  6. I'm in - great prizes, good effort. I didn't realise the charity was for brain injuries - my other half set up the Headway Group in our area for people with brain injuries of all ages so I'm even more up for supporting the cause here. Well done to all involved. Russ
  7. Some fine wine and 3 weeks off with no stress or hassle from customers or employers. (Now properly self employed in Arb after selling a franchised business)......bliss. Russ - ( having me time for the first time in a long time ) Hey to all the dudes I've met this year.........
  8. A big gate, and everything said already. As a vehicle the Defender is awesome, as a nickable assett it's pants......... Not a lot to add, they get nicked because it's fairly easy (sorry). Russ
  9. Rest well - trust that your strengths survive in the world you leave. If we all could be as strong..........A real man. Russ x
  10. Show? As in him show us up? He's just a part of the family with the added bonus of a Pie Key deterrent........ But cheers for the terrier lurve Gups, Billy & Wilf - get orf my land! Russ
  11. Got 2 - big and small, best bit of kit in the world. Hot water and a fry up at the same time! Russ
  12. Not ignoring the posts that have gone up - they are all awesome but Gups & I are on a bit of a terrier lurve in.... Never had a terrier before, so much dog in a small package. Russ
  13. He's a proper dog mate. Long haired / wire haired big bundle of character and total devotion by the looks of it. Wilf is my best mate and a total guard dog for my Wife. Amazing how he takes the Protector Role when I'm not around. What do you call him? Russ
  14. Congratulations - well cool and so Arb but with so much more potential - Camper Van, get away from it all van, and in any type of ground condition. Russ
  15. Hey Gups Good spot fella, he's a Parson JR, about up to your knee. I'll post a full body pic when I'm on the proper machine. Russ
  16. Something better than a JD & Soda on the rocks? The times spent in a US bar........... Russ
  17. The only reason I didn't go down the Defender route (I'm ex-mil & love these vehicles - taken them places you cannot imagine) was security. If you can lock them up in a compound great - but outside in "normal conditions" - it's going to be a worry. Russ
  18. Hi Silky Read the first 100 odd pages of your thread when I was lurking and gotta say, full credit to you. Great pic and keep writing. You could always self publish on kindle? Seriously. Russ
  19. What rope lengths are we talking BTW - only carrying 30m presently as just starting out. Russ
  20. Totally flexible to venue & dates but it would be good to keep it "localish" and pave the way for a rec climb calendar? Good practices shared with good people and future relationships etc........just fancy it staying realistic. Russ
  21. Well done for the post Ash & for manning up in the face of some direct feedback. Should put this on B&Q (or other similar hardware outlets) website to spook all the wrinkleys buying saws from a pretty extensive range. Russ
