  1. This tractor pto gear is ok but if the tractor is also pulling trailers on the job it can become a bit of a logistical nightmare. Probably be ok if you could find a way of stowing it on the drawbar of a trailer or its going to mean going back to get it which may not always be practical. Bob
  2. Has to be the industries embracing of mechanical handling especially with the plethora of gadgets that now hang off 360`s like flails, tree shears, grapples and thumbs . Bob
  3. Good idea Josh, only a mile up the road from here. Ashley could come here after s̶o̶ ̶I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶s̶l̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶l̶a̶b̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶ for work experience. Bob
  4. Grab and rotator off a crane is a different beast to one that will work well or last on a 360. It will be ok if its just dangling on the arm as it would on a crane but if its to be used to hold/lift vertically the top plate of the grab and the rotator will need to be quite beefy. Bob Bob
  5. Depends if I can get there before the dogs
  6. As above the plastic bushes are worth changing, also worth checking the stub shafts that run in the bushes are not knobbed, roller body grease hole that runs through the middle of the rollers is normally blocked solid so worth clearing that, check the splines for wear on the hydraulic motors and the ones in the hub bolted in the roller, while its apart its worth having the roller blades sharpened. Other than springs I cant think of anything else worth worrying about in the rollerbox department. Bob
  7. Nothing wrong with Saturn knives if you are just buying chipper blades, it all goes very wrong with collection on sharpens and customer care with returned products. Had problems with collections, communications and getting refunds on faulty goods. Which reminds me they still owe me about £150 Bob
  8. A field shelter our lads knocked up for a customer, he wanted an "old" look so sourced a load of big beams from a reclamation yard.
  9. Goblins are chomping through the "summer" logs
  10. Fit quiet ones then Bob
  11. Doesn't work like that Paul , we make up our own. The back of the plate is sticky, the numbers/letters are dry and then the backing front/back is then rollered on. The only way is to glue a pair together .
  12. Its a Delica Ian and does a Bear shit in the woods Bob
  13. Got a fair bit of lawn prep to do so bought a stone burier for the compact tractor, got looking at the Winton stuff ( which used to be crap) and they seem to have got their act together . Beefed up the product a lot so bought a hammer flail as well. Its out on a job this week so will report back Bob
  14. Couldn't find another manual 5speed, been on the lookout for about a year and they seem to be as rare as rocking horse shite. I am chucking all the seats out like the other one but this time going to try and condense all the tools into low profile pull out draws. So it doesn't end up like the other one
  15. Our old Hilux tipper refuses to die, way to rough to go on the road so its been used as a dumper. Still runs really well and refuses to die, really has been an incredible little truck Off for a new life soon in a far off land And I bought me a another kennel/mobile tool box/tow barge. see how long it takes the dogs to eat this one
  16. I just added an extra two forks onto the carriage of our FDI and that can load 4`+ diameter sticks as well as brash or chogs, its also easy to pull out from under a big stick. Bob
  17. Al has never been as busy since he painted his truck blue Right now we could do with a decent forestry tractor driver. a climber, two groundies , two 360 drivers, a fitter, a groundworker and an extra office bod. Interviewing some this week but competent staff around here are very thin on the ground. Bob
  18. All to do with my passtime of mechanical madness Andrew, been so busy of late I have not had any time to finish the mancave extension which will house some of the said madness but with luck I may have it finished in a few weeks. you are more than welcome to pop down for a gander when its done. Bob Mancave extension
  19. Probably don't mind dealing with their agents though, that story would of had a price Bob
  20. I am not sure whats going on but we are flat out and have been for a long time now, inquiries dropped off a bit in the new year but we had work so far ahead it made no difference. Tricky Dickie is flat out all week pricing and we dont advertise Bob
  21. Cupboards, draws and pigeon holes. Get as many as you can squeeze in before you start because its almost impossible once you start to use it. Cave http://s1116.photobucket.com/user/mypickys/slideshow/mancave Also worth knocking up simple gadgets like below for working on saws rather than chasing them around a bench
  22. I cant think of anyone that would trawl through facebook looking for a tradesman Bob
