  1. Friend's next door neighbour was using his saw and I commented that his chain was very slack. His answer was " It can't be it has an auto tensioner". I showed him how it works and he was a bit sheepish.
  2. Irrelevant of what they are doing, cutting wood or grinding metal electric motors cause problems with vibration and resonance, lots of people who have used angle grinders in their work now suffer from vibration white finger and circulation problems.
  3. Bloke down the road from here had two massive Leylandii topped and the bottoms are now about thirty feet across and they want levelling to the floor and rooting out but I bet he doesn't want to pay again.
  4. How'd you get that up a tree ? 🤔
  5. Is there any play in it with the chain removed ? If it still spins and is guiding the chain I would use it, it's only scorched the paint.
  6. That's going to be a pig to get your legs under the table unless you are a spry under 50 which some of us aren't
  7. Is it a road tow ? I can't see any suspension so it's B road only and 30mph so you will need it trailering home.
  8. That's going to be a hell of a splitter for £7000 what else does it do for all that cash ?
  9. Thought "This belongs in general chat or climbing"
  10. Apparently not. Sorry John can't help but Echo always seem to have an overlap when they bring out a new version like their CS-361WESand CS-362WES which also look like the same saw.
  11. I still have a pain in my elbow but when it was locking it really hurt and I was afraid to move it for fear of causing permanent damage. Before I could get an appointment for physio I found that holding my arm out with the palm facing up then raising it by holding the elbow with my other hand and lifting and straightening at the same time would free it off and give much relief. I had the injections many years ago but now they seem reluctant to give them out and to be honest I would not say they were really effective and were more painful than the original problem.
  12. That's complicated. What happens if you put the battery in while the chain brake is on does it play a tune ? I like petrol ones, when the engine is quiet the saw is off.
  13. Because he treats them with respect as he paid a lot for them 🤔
  14. Not sure what you are doing with the saw but you must be doing something different to the rest of us. I can only think you must be leaning on the saw like a Neanderthal to stretch the chain like that, the 6 I've used on the 135 have been fine. I bought them for rough use on arb waste and have been pleasantly surprised that rather than being disposable items they have lasted well.
  15. I think the 044 is a longer stroke than the 038.
  16. Where are you going to put your Silky ?
  17. I have half a dozen for my 135 and I sharpen them with my Lidl grinder. I have to say they are as good as any other chain I've used which is limited to the original Husky chain, an Oregon and a cheap Wartech which didn't last long at all. These chains are used on arb waste dumped in the muck down at the farm. I'd like to see evidence of the mixed and backwards cutters before I passed judgement, I would definitely have taken pictures of that. I have seen chains where every single cutter was on backwards, so were the drive links but that's another story 🙃
  18. Don't tell us, I bet she fell over.😱
  19. Didn't you notice it was her father in law who tried to cut with the chain backwards ? I spotted it wasn't her straight away 🤔
  20. I have these videos in my favourites and have watched her closely sawing and splitting, she is pure muscle and I am very impressed with her work ethic.

Could have been worse, he could have said push the manifold onto the flange as well😏
  22. Ah right, mine is a Dynamac variation from Machine Mart over 20 years old and still going strong
  23. It's an Efco made in Italy, how is it a non brand ? They make saws under several different brand names and have been running for years.
  24. Is the starter cord full length, do you pull till the dogs engage then go for it and feed it back slowly or let the spring whip back in ?
