    Husky 575

Yes, and the same chain is also sold as Husky H42.
  2. The 560xp is of course better, as it is both lighter and stronger, but I see nothing wrong with a 357xp.
  3. Of course, but I don't hit rocks very often - I try to avoid it! The Husky files we get here actually are quite good - better than the Stihl ones - but I wouldn't mind trying SaveEdge at all, if they were easily availiable...
  4. Yes, if your bar is a .325 one, and the gauge is the same. If your bar is a pixel (NK) one, you may have to stay with Pixel/NK chain though - which is not optimum on that saw. Regular .050 .325 chain on NK bars works on many saws, but not on all..... Just try the different options, but I doubt .325x8 will be too much with the 20" bar (I have no experience with elm though).
  5. Likely not, I have just used the files that Husky and Stihl sell here, but I have no idea who makes them! Both works quite well, if you keep them reasonably clean of shavings. Anyway, a filing seldom takes more than 2-3 strokes, if you do it well before the chain gets really dull - as you should.
  6. Yes, if the dealer is worth being called a dealer it shouldn't be a problem - and it never was when I wanted somthing that isn't standard here.
  7. It is a total no-brainer - the Huskys are far ahead of the competition in the 50 and 60cc classes at the moment . They just handle much better and are more fun to use, including the really snappy trigger response!
  8. That is of course a factor (to a varying degree with different chain models), as is the higher number of cutters of the .325 chain. There is nothing wrong with trying that!
  9. I believe the .33 l vs. .35 l thing in the specs is a misprint, specially as the 560xpg is listed at the same .35 l as the 562 versions. Of course I am not 100% sure, but very close to.....
  10. I always buy the heated version when there is one - and there mostly is! It is really nice in both cold and in wet conditions!

    Dolmar saw?

Generally you are mistaken, but of course it depends on the exact saws that you compare.

    Ms181

It is a cheaply built "homeowner" class saw, that is totally unsuitable for such use - but each to their own....
  13. Far from all rims have those cavities, and it doesn't seem to matter much, if at all..... Anyway, if in doubt, do as the manual says!
  14. The case itself is the same, as is the oiler. What is different is just the bar mount related parts and the air filter/cover.
  15. Actually, you need to compare 3/8x7 to .325x8 yourself to really know what works best for you. The exact chain models you use will have an impact as well, as will the wood and even the operator - the answer is not carved in stone anywhere.... Also, 3/8x8 may be an option as well, with 15-16" bars - specially if a lot of limbing is involved.
  16. Jonsered is right up there with Husky, as it currently is basically the same thing.
  17. Of course it does - and it is a pity that Husky doesn't make a 20" TechLite bar for the small bar mount (K095).
  18. I agree there is no need for the 562 with the extra weight and larger air filter, but I don't agree with the rest of your post.....
  19. 2260 = 560xp 2258 = 555
  20. I totally agree (but I use progressive raker guides, to avoid guesswork)!
  21. Thanks for the update! I believe Aspen (or was it Husky?) used to warn about this possible issue earlier?
  22. Well, I have learned a bit more since that statement - "on paper" it looks like the CS620 is quite close to the MS362 and PS6100, but not to the 560xp. That is if the specs are closer to the truth than Shindaiwa specs usually has been, as I believe the 620 is a Shinny in Echo dress....

    346xp

An xpg might topple you over then!
  24. Keep it, it is a stellar saw when right. Actually I have problems understanding why there seem to be so many issues with these saws in the UK, as that doesn't seem to be the case in other markets?
  25. SawTroll

    346xp

No surprice there, but be aware that the chain model that is used may actually have a larger impact on the cutting speed than that differense. Another issue is that the handling of the saw suffers from the longer bar, specially when limbing and such.....
