  1. Many still regard the 346xp as the best 50cc saw ever made, despite it has been discontinued. The only true alternative is the 550xp, that has replaced the 346. I see no reason to replace my 50cc 346xp with a 550 though.
  2. The 351 shared the top end with the 350, but it was a higher quality saw that shared the case etc with the 346xp, not with the "homeowner class" 350/345/340. The 351 was replaced by the 353 in 2002.
  3. No, they will not, as the tail of the 3003 mount Stihl bar is wider than the tail of the small Husky Mount bar. I don't think it is as simple as drilling new holes, but it could be doable if you plug the original hole, and drill from the rail into the new hole. Likely it isn't worth the trouble....
  4. It actually was Husky that made the 2094 and 2095 for Jonsered, even though the models weren't based on any Husky model.

  6. The standard Chain likely is an Husky branded Oregon - but it is a kick-back reduced chain that isn't cutting too well, specially when bore cutting. There are better Oregon 91 chains out there, like the VXL and VX. There are rumors that Husky is setting up their own chain factory, but I don't know what the plans actually are......
  7. Any 3/8" lopro/picco .050 chain can be used, as long as the dl count is correct. A loop that fits a MS200 is not likely to have the correct dl count for the Husky. No. The called length of bars are not accurate, and specially not in 3/8" lopro/picco.
  8. It acually can get quite warm in the summer, but real fire hazards in the woods are rare.
  9. No need for them here either.... I believe the restriction is about 20% with a clean screen.

  16. Yes, the library goes all the way back to 1972! A lot of user manuals also are there, but that library doesn't go as far back. Workshop manuals are not on the public websites, and are harder to find.....
  17. If the complete top end is to be replaced, any 351 (as it is a red version of), 350, 353 or 346xp kit will fit. If the cylinder is OK, and you want to save money, you are restricted to the 44mm 351/2149/350/2150 piston. However, the 2149 is a pro quality saw, that really deserves a 44.3mm NE346xp top end!
  18. The stock .325 15" bar withh H25/21BPX and a 7-pin is way "underkill" on that saw - the saw simply has too much power for it. Before mine even left the saw shop, it had a 3/8" 16" with H42/73LP setup on it, and it will take a lot more!
  19. I'm not really sure what the difference is, but the 576xp also is a first generation "strato", which always meant more weight - and only Husky have got out of that "trap" so far. The AT on the 576xp meant even more weight, on top of it being a 1st generation strato - while the second generation strato saws, with the second generation AT, are lighter than the saws they replaced. That is a major improvement!

  22. Nice video, that demonstrates that the MS201T needs to be modded to almost keep up with the 540xp. No surprice there!
  23. The standard setup with a 15" bar and .325x7 is a joke - the saw will take much more! At least change the rim to a .325x8 - or just ditch .325, and change to 3/8" - and it will take much more than a 15" bar with that setup!
  24. Ditto, but it isn't the only solution.
  25. Look at what is stamped on the drive tangs (the parts that go down between the rails of the bar).....
