  4. what do you lads do we your old ropes?? im after a couple of 20ft lengths to use to tie me boat up with, most mooring ropes are pretty dull and not very good. so if you got out kicking about give me a shout please. cheers.

  7. a couple of steel bands off a pac of bricks, used for jump leads, got me out the shite
  8. must admit, over paid foot ball, rugby and such has never done anything for me, never been into any of them. but the winter Olympics, fantastic, great to watch.
  9. on my 90 (23yrs old) the exhaust fell to bits a long time ago, mot last month so I cut a hole in the rear cross member welded in a piece of pipe. then ran a piece of flexi hose from existing exhaust to rear cross member, plus a few brackets hear and there. took it for mot, examiner said it was fine, but if it had been fitted with a cat originally it would of failed. very suprised it passed with no silencers,
  10. hi jon, three days of the week full of welding gear, not a great amount of weight, rest of the week logs, greedy boards on the inside of the back door to stop logs falling out. without looking I think there 265/75/17 perhaps a bit bigger, but not going outside to look! £100 per tyre balanced and fitted and old tyre disposed of.
  11. I had a set for 4yrs on my 90, seem a really good tyre, ive had the back full from floor to roof with logs never had a prob. and I used to go green laning all over the country with them on, no probs. like them so much ive just got another set fitted.

  14. evening all. don't suppose anyone has a couple of old double pulley wheels off a old comp or such like? im after a couple of them, one about 4/5" and one 12" or bigger. cheers, pete.
  15. I got my wife to sew some patches on mine, I cut the patches out of a old split swede welding jacket. so far working great for me.

  17. what a good thread. ive never really had any intention to do milling, but after joining this forum and reading threads on the subject ive been thinking about it. then I came across a 075 for forty nicker so I got it with the view to selling it on, but since then ive changed my mind and going to keep it I think, a good saw for milling? ive been looking at these milling devices in the pics people put and think I could very well make one. could I see some close up pics of the bit of kit please? thanks pete.

  20. the sort of work I do 3mm is light metal, and as you say mig is the way for cars, think anyone trying to do car body work with a stick is very good or very stupid.
  21. right, 70 amps, you could very easly weld 3mm/1/8plate goes from 70amp to 300amp in increments. im near Northampton, prob to far for a few of you. im struggling to get pics here, but can send them via phone if any ones still interested. cheers.

  23. anyone on here in the market for a diesel welder? shes a big old beast, powered by a 2cyl petter BA2, welding unit is a MAX ARC, MUSTANG. amp range is from 70amp to 300amp. wanting £500ono for it, or swap for a 20or more hp diesel/petrol engine. will put pics up if anyones interested. (if I can, lol)
  24. now that brings back memorys, down the pub every dinner time we the crane driver. used to like walking the purlings out as it were something to hold onto.
  25. in me younger days, I used to erect steel buildings, before the days of cherry pickers, safety nets and harnesses, standing on the top of rakers and walking up them 40/50ft in the air got the better of me, was pleased to get out of that job!!! a lad I worked with used to walk across motorway bridge handrails with his eyes closed, that's a nutter!!!
