  1. I saw that on a offload show. Narrow tyres cut through the slippy mud to the more solid below. However if deflated (15psi I think) wide tyres help float over sand or boggy ground.
  2. 👍....
  3. Looks like a good way to 'spike' a tree you wish to retain.
  4. Thank you for organising Steve and well done everyone who contributed.
  5. Noooooo..... Not that question, let the debate begin lol. I'd say personal preference. (For me Stihl)

  9. I know it's not a truck but my 99 petrol passat had 192000 on the clock when I brought it and I put 25000 over 18months going up & down to Portsmouth sold it just over a year ago for a upgrade (diesel with 172000 on clock) and it still going strong.

  15. Yes. Practising would be a good way of getting rid of some of that willow.
  16. Plan it on four sides in 2D and practice with plasticine (mix the colours and it makes a loggy brown) Use primary, secondary then detailing cuts. Pattern ideas at- http://www.chainsawcarve.ca/patterns.html Hope this helps
  17. It would be a shame to lose any mature and most defiantly an ancient woodland. I live in the national forest, which has increased the tree cover from 6% to over 20% with the use of over 8 million trees over the last 20yrs. Don't get me wrong it is good but will still take 50+ years for the trees to get to a decent size.
  18. It's mine this year ill have to drop hints and that pic to the missus
  19. Taking the east coast route adds 3hours but avoids the Peak District. I live about 5 miles off the google maps route. But if you divert near derby you end up coming through Swadlincote. I can make a mean spag Bol....
  20. These look good. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=51061
