  8. What would you all be looking for accommodation wise? Local B&B / hotels, caravans and tents???? Would it be a BYOB or would you all want a bar and some DJ putting on?
  9. I would like to put South derbyshire forward as a location. Plus we have the National forest visitor centre. 😃 Lifted from wiki. Centre of England - In 2002 the Ordnance Survey defined 'Lindley Hall farm' Fenny Drayton as the Geographical Centre of England. In 2003 the Ordnance Survey placed Coton in the Elms, Derbyshire, as the 'furthest point from the sea' in Great Britain. Who wants to argue with the mapmakers
  10. Try this, I saw it demonstrated at the Arb show and it took all the weight of a pole saw. The demonstrator just pointed it where he wanted it to go http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products-page/easy-lift-harness1/machine-harnesses
  11. I have the Marmite factory with its tower about 5miles from me.
  12. I should of asked average sizes as well. The thought of smashing up usable bits makes me shudder. I will be keeping an eye open for med/big lumps as I want to get into carving. I just hope people have a good imagination "it's an owl, honest" 😃
  13. Just been reading The complete countryman by Alan Titchmarsh. There was a bit about wood turning. I was wondering what woods do you all like? As I'm beginning as a tree surgeon I could keep an eye open for good bits and save them from the chipper
  14. What you'll be needing is a rifle with chainsaw bayonet. http://geekologie.com/2012/01/zombie-hunting-assault-rifle-with-chains.php
  15. My course is finished now. Will be looking for work from the 14th October. I have some experience, so I got my tickets to be a "competent" person in the eyes of PUWER and insurance companies

  24. Finished the climbing training today. We were cutting in the tree. Snapped the started cord on the ms200 so it got repaired then I did it again!! That time I came down to sort it, as it was almost lunch. One of the lads put an order in with FR Jones. It was like Christmas when it turned up. We were trying his new harness and helping put his helmet together. Can't wait to confirm my shopping list.
