  1. I think being out in the fresh air is a factor aswell
  2. I didn't want I bore people with massive blocks of writing. Didn't know until I just googled Hemingways style. I can't put my finger on why its hard. I've done more physically and mentally challenging things but everyday when I'm back I am physically exhausted. When I did the cs31 in the woods I was covered in sweat after just snedding one tree, all I was doing was guiding the saw. As for climbing I'm probably about 2stone heavier than I should be so its no easy pulling myself up a tree. I'm getting better as my technique develops.
  3. Doing the Cs39 element today. Yet another thing that was hard. Strange although it was hard, it's not been unpleasant. Seen some beautiful houses and stunning views and way can be better than being in the fresh air everyday
  4. Passed my business studies today. Been spiking on the pole today, rather be in a full tree. It's a strange feeling up the top.
  5. Coming to the end of my course so ill be heading home. It wouldn't surprise me if my fiancé is stood at the door with a razor. I'm going to say its part of the job lol
  6. Should you deal with Copford sawmill sussex, I might be able to help. I'm in Tunbridge till sat then ill be heading via Portsmouth to Swadlincote Getting back Oct 3/4th(10m S of derby) If it'll fit in the car I can bring a bit up.
  7. 👍👍👍👍👍
  8. Into week 4 and my head is frazzled after doing the financial projections as part of the business plan
  9. Would it not make a nice blank for a carver?
  10. That's what my plan was. Although I have the quals I have no experience.
  11. I have no problem spending as its what I want to do. Just shocked when I looked at my list of less than 40 items it was a four digit total. That's not including chipper, stump grinder, trailer and arb truck (heart set on landy 😃)
  12. I think my wallet will hurt long after my arms recover. Just made a list of everything I need. 😢
  13. That draws a close to week three. And I'm shattered. We covered climbing, secondary anchors, branch walks and throwbags and rescues. We also liked at some different climbing systems which was interesting
  14. Try TreeId by isoperla. It has a picture a young Alder on the edge of some water. It's £2.49 and has 44? Main species then some are broken down into different variants. Also TreesUK. Not sure on price as I have it ages. It give a bit of historical uses for the timber to so quite interesting
  15. Try FR Jones http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products-page/climbing-equipment/harnesses1/childrens-harnesses/
  16. My legs and arms have stopped working, and my abs are killing. Greatest respect to those who have been climbing for years
  17. I took the gloves off 5' off the ground. I was getting annoyed with getting them caught
  18. Only trapped my little finger in the prussic once so not a bad morning
  19. I took out a second line for my fiancé, with a new phone. Waited in for delivery, but they put the postcode where the house number should have been. So it was a 25mile round trip to pick up the new phone. Funny old thing, my bill turns up every month without fail.
  20. Buy another set or two. Rotate them to give them chance to dry.
  21. First day of work experience last week was interesting. The client had organised other work which meant the felling couldn't take place. So we started the business studies. 2 days work experience this week was good. Saw a hydraulic stump grinder in action, looks easier than wresting the pedestrian one we used. Start climbing tomorrow.
  22. Sorry to derail. (Good luck with the build) but for your consideration, the most evil thing in the world. The 3pin Lego plug!!
  23. Snap 😃
  24. Could it be dug up and moved somewhere else in your garden? It'll save it getting cut down completely
