  1. Fr jones sell a Stihl MS 181 chainsaw £165.62 + VAT (£198.74 inc VAT). Not much in the grand scheme of things, compared to a £500 fine. And as said before a few carvings would soon pay for it. I put it into my business plan as a chipper saw, to fake off them annoying branches that won't fit through.
  2. Nothing lol. The one I saw was £100 with tools. Can usually pull some together for a bargain.
  3. I'm sat with my sad face on. I was on the way to collect the lathe and it had been given to the woman's nephew (she was selling on behalf of her elderly mother, who gave it away) some good tips though. Will start my stockpile of drying timber ready for when I finally get a lathe
  4. I've heard about boiling green wood to reduce during time and defects. Have you tried that if so did it work?
  5. Not bad for a caravan ehh?
  6. I think you'll be surprised by some vans. They even have showers. Get a nice fixe bed one and you won't have to make up a bed at night. Some even have full size fridges.
  7. How long would it take to dry then? I think they're 8-10"
  8. Just found a lathe and tools going cheap, it's not massive but its a start. Got some cherry logs that haven't split yet, and its not long been cut. Any tips?
  9. Had our first rally of the year, so nice to be back into the 'van. We visited the marshals friend who has a collection of old cars and bikes and associated bits and bobs, and his wife collects the old toys
  10. A plaster I used once lived in his caravan, in the corner of a proper site so he could use a proper shower and toilet. He had to move it when the site owner wanted to mow the grass. And I think he arranged a cheaper fee per night.
  11. I remember a thread last year (but can't find it to quote) about day rates. Some were talking about 350-400 per day. Then someone said charge the first hour at £120 then £60 per hour. On a 8 hour day or 3x 2hour jobs that's £540
  12. I don't like this new pound coin, but I have never liked change
  13. First decent size fell, at around 16"
  14. The Avon soft & fresh dry oil body spray or skin so soft oil spray are supposed to be good.
  15. Yes but double points if your man cave is a cave lol
  16. I have Stien shadow and I know a few who use stien explorer. Both great boots
  17. Had Skyrim for my birthday, not stopped playing it every free moment since mid feb
  18. Just a quick warning to all chipper users. Careful with birds nests. I was chipping at night when the nest glinted in my headtorch. It was full of WIRE. There were bits of chainlink fence, barbwire, high tension wire and other bits of thin wire. Some bits were 2' long. Needless to say I would have made a mess of the knives.
  19. I revoke my statement then lol
  20. What's wrong with a cup of gravy?
  21. He's still takes approx £135000 after tax ~I really get a buzz from my work, to infiniTREE and beyond~
  22. CS 38 and chipper ticket. You'll be more employable as a groundy/rescue climber. Cs39 if funds allow, work as a second climber to get experience. I really get a buzz from my work, to infiniTREE and beyond
  23. Pair them up with some braces and it keeps them high. Therefore reducing the pull factor during leg spreading.
  24. And also from me. They're like wearing jogging bottoms
  25. I think that's more cash in hand jobs. You should be ok if you have invoices from him.
