  1. I don't bother with what other people are charging there is a guy 15-20 miles away doing 4 cube for £250 I still sell mine at £120 just work out your costs and put on what profit you think it's worth and let the others worry about your prices.
  2. We couldn't get any interest at £40 roadside having to split it all ourselves now just to make space
  3. you could spend an afternoon googling all the other merchants also, personally I don't think it's worth doing for less than £120 a cube
  4. can't call them seasoned looking at what's left in the stack you will have some timber in there that's 35 40%mc
  5. they will have to learn to burn soft and start some serious planting programmes there's mile after mile of hillside in Scotland with just a few subsidised sheep on them better to subsidise trees instead
  6. you won't get 24 ton on an artic if it's seasoned or part at 18 months It's more likely going to be 15t or less so at a green price I would go tonnage, going by cube is wasting money. unless it's been sitting in a manky wet hole and taken on weight ofc that might change things.
  7. doubt anyone can compete with 2 trestles and 4 bungees
  8. I will see if I can get another 2 or 3 out and give them a power wash fella along the road has taken a grinder to one and cut a seat in on the trunk and a cup rest in the root ball looks quite smart for a barbecue
  9. there's better stuff for milling if I only had a mill but for now just sell it on.
  10. thanks guess I will leave them in the wood just seemed a waste
  11. I'am clearing some windblown oak atm and there are a few old stumps around as I know absolutely nothing about carving are these any good for carving and are they worth my time hauling out. couple of pics as an example the bigger one is around 26" diameter and I guess around 48-50" high from the tip of the root. apologies if they are on the big side straight from my phone.
  12. Billets work great if your budget isn't too high, you don't need to lay out on ibc's or bags either if you do tipped loads, just a decent 1m splitter and a saw bench with a conveyor, you will need a decent size yard though this lot of billets has been out all winter uncovered we will bag it end of the summer.
  13. finally someone quoting a sensible price
  14. I still wonder what size bulk bag 0.25, 0.5, 0.6, 0.73, 0.9 or cube 2 cube can't believe how many websites of english merchants get away without giving a size.
  15. why would you have to kiln dry it, softwood kindling size will dry in no time.
  16. at the price they offered we decided to keep it and run it into the ground but we bought flat bed and crane also 4x4.
  17. 4x4 sprinter panel van merc offered us 5k as trade in was 3 yr old 80k miles so should be able to pick up one for not too much money.
  18. Have you checked it out on a weigh bridge when your loaded?
  19. You mean we are supposed to sell the logs I've turned into a perm storage facility.
