  2. NZ, oz, Eastern Europe?? I guess it depends on your circumstances and your life style choice. you can make it worth your while if you want it bad enough. I'd fcuk off from the uk as soon as I can make it happen tbh. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. do any of you lads eat quinoa?? it's low on the glycemic index and very easy to digest, I know it's carbs but also very high protein. I'm going to have to give this paleo this a go, you lot seem to highly rate it. Ian Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  16. Moved to a new site today, hardwood thinnings, it's one side of a bloody steep valley, you struggle to walk up it, felled trees that are dressed out easily and rather scarily happily slide down of the own accord with out any help or warning. How do you work out the average angle of the slope? from bottom of the bank to highest tree felled? what's the steepest any one one here had worked on? Ian Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. I don't know mate, never done one or known of one that's been hit quite hard. I'm sure some of the more experienced folk on here might be able to answer that Ian Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I wonder what the reason for the take down was? if it could possibly damage property or endanger life then I dont think there would be a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. read what the licence permits at the top.... you can kill, take, damage or destroy nests, take or destroy their eggs. all legally of the species listed in that picture. nesting, have young or what ever. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. kind of contradicts the reason why there are birds on the governments hit list for pest species then. why try to control number if we can't stop them breeding? hey, that's just this country all over hahahaha ....... backwards Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. a copy of a legal general licence for controlling wood pigeon, taken from basc web site. growing timber is listed as a reason why you can shoot these flying pests. I guess you could use that as your reason and pigeons have no law stopping you from removing them as you are producing timber. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

    Uniforms

hi vis or no hi vis, corporate clothing or bring your own, I'll wear what ever but as soon as the temp gets too hot and the clothing makes me too hot and starts to make me feel sick or affect me ability to do my job through heat exhaustion I'll whip the knife out and cut the collar and sleeves off to get the job done. I know company's want to look good through having a uniform and I totally get that.... but as long as the job gets done well, and professionally and the customer is happy that's all that counts Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. I've had my pair about 3 weeks, so far so good, a good baggy fit, but I personally like that, I did get large which was the right size for me, maybe could of gone medium cos the fit is large. but I hate the slim tight fitting stuff anyway...... that's just personal though. however I do have gripes with the pockets.... this design allows twigs and brash to snag and get a good hold to rip the pocket stitching.... which it has done! and the bigger pocket fills with saw dust and chippings.... you can explain to the the angry mrs about the state of the washing machine!! haha also the phone pocket, the flap don't cover the opening so you get chips going in there too. apart from the pockets, there a decent nice and light pair of pants, I work in forestry full time so they get worn for nearly 12hrs a day and take some stick with the undergrowth. not done any climbing in them yet so can't comment on that side of things. if there is anything else to report I will on this thread. 24. Darwin just claimed another one......... FAIL !! haha Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. I've got the the Exped Scout Hammock Combi. Hammock, tarp, mosi net, brilliant bit of kit, very easy and quick to set up. Great for ducking the hottest parts of the day. I do fancy a bigger tarp like the DD 3x3. Not camped over night yet but will be soon in next week or so. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
