  1. Further info here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-measures-to-protect-poultry-against-avian-flu cheers, steve
  2. Lock up your birds folk.... apparently there's been a fair amount of bird flu across Europe and probably just a matter of time before it crosses the water, if it isn't already here now? cheers, Steve
  3. I didn't mean to rake up all your sweet (chestnut) time.... Lord knows I'm not a Voodoo Stihl kinda guy! cheers, Steve p.s.... porridge for breakfast
  4. Salmon fishcake. cheers, steve
  5. Hi SlackMaGirdle, on the back of your recommendation we collected a bunch of very lovely looking fruity trees from Paul today at Dolau-hirion Fruit Trees They are pot grown and very well grown, and a good size ....they just about fitted in the xtrail. Here's what we ordered.... cheers, Steve
  6. Hey man, your glove reminds me of this song: "I was standing next to a Mountain (Ash) Chop it down with the edge of my hand cuz I'm a voodoo stihl Lord knows I'm a voodoo stihl" ....etc cheers, steve p.s.... getting my coat right now!
  7. Hey, i was actually aiming for your helmet.... just wanted to see how you'd react! Alex is a much better shot than me; always manages to hit my ankles, at quite a velocity too. The fecker!! Why isnt he on arbtalk? ...Maybe he has a life?? cheers, steve
  8. I hate me when I throw lumps of wood at InTheWoods helmet. cheers, steve

  10. Although they could design their own bill of sale on a stolen computer, printed out with a stolen printer. cheers, steve
  11. Just a shame they haven't come out with an alternative (and better version) to the now discontinued RipSaw. cheers, steve
  12. Is that £16 +vat all in with the battery pack and stones? I'd be well up for that. cheers, Steve
  13. I just got around it.... bet nobody gets to read my cunning plan!! Mwooooharrrrharrrrr..... Did you know arbtalk moderators are secretly working for the government to keep an eye on us all. Is anybody reading this???? Nice colour! cheers, steve
  14. The Kubota engine manual (for a Forst TR6) mentions leaving it on tickover to cool down. I guess it needs water pumping through the rad for a while to cool down enough. Probably not a big deal right now as its winter.... but on hot days seems wise to leave it ticking over for a while.... cheers, steve
  15. My thoughts entirely. Everyone's a terrorist suspect nowadays. Apparently they can even track things that have been written but not sent. I keep having this recurring dream of being filmed, sandwiched between Theresa May & Angela Merkel, with Nigel Farage doing the voiceover..... I will not hit the return button I will not hit the return button I will not hit the return button I will not hit the return button I will not hit the return button I will not hit the return button.... cheers, steve
  16. That's been annoying me lately. I'd have thought chippers should be run on tickover for at least 10 or 20 seconds before switching off.... to cool down at least a little bit. What's the general advice on that? The other thing that gets my goat is when the whole crew pee in my helmet and I put it on without realising. cheers, Steve
  17. They should cut faster but worth keeping in mind they aren't as strong; the bar is going to be more prone to flexing & because the chain links are smaller they may be more prone to snapping/ losing teeth. cheers, steve p.s.... not sure on the mm difference in dimensions, a bit narrower!
  18. In a nutshell, a low profile guide bar and chain are a bit narrower than the standard ones. cheers, steve

    Work

Only if you have a Stihl MS666 or Husky 666xpg (extremely heated handle version). cheers, steve
  20. The final edge of your gob isn't completely straight and you have left a bit too much meat on the hinge.... this has led to over reliance upon winch power.... lazy!! And I say "pink spots on trees is soooo 80's". Therefore it's a 5 out of ten from me. cheers, steve p.s.... just noticed a wobble at the start of the back cut too, something must have distracted you. Were you actually looking at the tree ?? So I need to deduct another point for that.... 4 out of ten!
  21. Oh dear. I presume you were flipping the bar regularly. Hopefully it's a one off problem; no doubt rob will be on the case with it.... My cottage cheese Husky 15" bar nose sprocket seized a couple days ago too so maybe its got something to do with the weather??! cheers, steve
  22. Really! Wasn't expecting that to happen!! Was it oiling okay? cheers, steve
  23. That's cool and now I feel like moving the stones back to Pembrokeshire from Stonehenge. cheers, steve
  24. Who cares!... so long as the emissions are cleaner and we're using more fuel to help raise funds for making more bombs to sell to ISIS (directly or indirectly) everyone's happy, right? We can fix the 20deg Celsius Arctic sea anomaly with this new chipper technology too. It's a win win situation. "We aren't doomed at all" (mumbled the Ostrich with its head in the sand). cheers, steve
  25. Those big freight ships are really dirty and we need lots more of them so it's really important to clean up woodchipper emmisions. cheers, steve
