  1. nikko sterling night eater 4x16x50 on a tx200 is a machine. i think the scope is the platinum version and so far no problems, had the setup 8 years now? the nikko gold crown scope the gun came with was basic and restricted the performance of the gun
  2. i think what you need is a heavy metal tank on legs that you light a fire beneath. the top side of the tank has a lid with an air tight seal that bolts down or locks safely. when the creosote is heated its viscosity decreases and expands (quite like a container of petrol left in direct sun light) and will force its way through a dry pine post, add a block of tar to the mix and you get telegraph pole quality that will last for 40+ years in theory:001_smile:
  3. why cant you pressure treat with it? there are specialist suppliers in the north with supposedly genuine products
  4. design fail, i would replace with a longer pipe that would be pushed and pulled instead of twisted, if space allows
  5. bob, dose that iveco have the rear axles turned upright with the drive hidden safe in the chassis like the urals or is it the normal layout?
  6. to be fair they have taken £250 off the asking price. saw it was on market book couple months back
  7. sorry its for milled hardwoods
  8. I have discovered Big J's kiln thread:lol: Would a permanent kiln for drying timber mainly for own use require planning permission on my croft? Is a kiln classed as a forestry diversification similar to an ag building. It would replace disused buildings with a similar foot print but slightly higher so i can get a telihandler inside, i would be surprised if any of the neighbors objected. i really cant have two insulated lorrys in the garden although they are portable? I have a polytunnel but that will destroy wood in the summer and two shipping containers will cost the best part of 3.5k for clean ones that need insulating and a concrete pad(poor drainage), im just as well building something decent. estimated size around 30' x 16' x 10' internal kiln dimensions with an apex roof to about 16' max whats planning going to say? Thanks Graham
  9. im currently running the 350 amp rated at 13.2kva on the 20kva gen and seems to be happy enough. i think these welders are designed to have a low power consumption to make them more versatile. planning to run the 500 on a 100kva. is there a way of protecting the generator from high currents, there must be generator powered welders on ships, oil rigs etc. better drop gensetsteve a pm
  10. I can see your point so had a look at the brochure and the 500 amp only requires a 28 kva and the 280 amp requires 7.2 kva power supply. i hope running the welder should be trouble free found a company called Westermans that specialize in these old beasts, but they are not open on sundays:laugh1: http://www.westermans.com/downloads/kemppi%20multisystem.pdf by inrush current do you mean instant very high load?
  11. anyone know where to get a galvanized chassis for an old Mitsubishi pajero lwb?
  12. hi, as title can you run a kemppi pss5000 with a generator with TIG on AC for aluminum and DC for stainless? i know the smaller ps3500 kemppi will run MMA no problems but never used anything else with the generator Kemppi Pss 5000 Ac Dc Tig Mig Stick 3 Phase Welder | eBay thanks
  13. give your self a blast with an air line, 10bar gets almost every last bit off even from woolly socks
  14. it took me 20 hours to cut 2 timber joists made from 8 individual timbers for a roof as they were on display from inside and the joints had to be perfect
  15. never used one but if you can find one of these NEW 240V 1250W Router by Pro including tools and bits in case | eBay this is the toughest 'cheap' powertool in the world!
  16. it would be a shame to damage good mill wood that could be worth something to someone
  17. circular rack saw bench | eBay i think this one was on ebay early last year
  18. hi jon, ive got 3 Mitsubishi/caterpillar rams and pump off a 18ton digger they are the same rams 20ton+. i was going to upgrade the splitter but too much work. its easier to start again with heavier steel the jcb rams are 3ft, more blades need more tons
  19. awww! ha i recognize that splitter, i based my ones design on that one after seeing it on youtube back in 2012 i dont deserve any credit, its even got wheels
  20. Thanks, i did but as rusty says its a shame it dosent have wheels. back to the drawing board!
  21. its only 27 tons the rams are rated at 12ton each but we tweeked the digger an extra 300psi
  22. the splitter pushes the logs straight into a large grain bucket on a tellihandler, its just out of sight behind the camera. i had it loading a conveyor but it was overwhelmed
  23. been on here before but todays the first use its had in two years, the diggers not healthy quite lucky today as nothing broke or jammed and two m3 split in under 5min! [ame] [/ame]
  24. Dewalt Dw625ek 240v 2,000w 1/4 & 1/2 Inch Router With Case, DEW625EK at D&M Tools this is my one at £239 its a steal, i think they were high 400s when they came out
  25. festool is expensive and you would be lucky to find a second hand router in perfect working order for less than a new makita or dewalt. i have a 1/2 inch dewalt, the slide or plunge and the motor are strong. the other bits like handles and depth gauges could be that little bit more if you know what i mean. other than that its worked very well for me in all weather and with multiple users. so dewalt or trend(same router with a few improvements) great for starting up but theres better on the market, what are you looking to spend?
