  1. When I was at school my naighbour used to breed canaries and used to cross them with gold finches, bull finches, chaffinches etc back in the 70’s and he also had golden pheasants and reeves...and also had would you believe Weaver Birds which made the most amazing nests.
  2. Here you go stubby a better photograph of it.
  3. Thanks stubby that’s a really nice thing to say and appreciate it.??
  4. Oh yes and naughty to shoot one as well...only the second one I have ever seen in all the years I have been around shoots.nice to see though and would be good to keep an eye out to see if it makes it through to the end of the season..stands out like a beacon to predators.
  5. Well we all think our dogs are beautiful...but he is quite a handsome for a spaniel...he is also a lot bigger then what I exspeceted to be as his mom & dad we’re both quite small.
  6. Hi Gary here he is my boy Weaver..this was taken a couple of weeks ago when it was warm, when the sun is out he goes up the garden and just sits and watches the birds coming into the feeders. This is from the weekend when I was going to do a job out in a little village just outside Hereford...pheasants everywhere then out pops a white one weaver seemed a bit confused by the colour.
  7. Wow man she’s a Bute....don’t you just love um...I will try and get some photographs sorted...I have had a lot going on and work has been crazy so need to make time.
  8. Hi Gary thanks for asking how weaver is....he is doing well and coming,he is on then whistle, come back, stop, left and right, sitting to the shot, sitting on bolting rabbit, ignoring bolting rabbit on return,he just hunts a bit far i from but I can live with that, but obviously with all this shit going on at the moment I think i’am probably 3 months behind were I would like to be with him.i did try and post some photographs of home with an update a few weeks ago but for some reason I couldn’t down load them...I can’t seem to delete photographs already posted..I have been meaning to get in touch with Steve to ask if i’am doing something wrong so as soon as I get it sorted I will update photographs and an update.??
  9. Jesus sounds like it was pre planed....these guys are professional knew exactly what was there and know that the police won’t be coming out until the week after they have nicked everything as gone are the days the 5’0 come out within the hour.i know you will replace the majority of your kit but I found it was the smaller things like tools, all the spare parts, filters, fuel canisters, files, spare chains the list go’s on what I missed the most.anyway at least your back up and running and I really do hope you get at least some of your kit back as surly to god that much gear can’t just disappear.
  10. F—ing hell buddy that is some haul they have had from you and a massive kick in the bollocks for you and your crew and I feel for you as it happend to me a few years back.was it all together in a lock up or in vehicles?am sure your insured but it’s such a ball ach and lots of time consuming phone call and finding receipts etc. It is getting worse no doubt about it and everything has been said about it and what should be done but then police have never been that active were rural crime has been concerned and now all there time is consumed finding people for not wearing a ****************ing mask you got no chance in ever seeing any of your kit again unless you do your own detective work.i wish you all the best and hope you get back up and running as soon as you can.Thieving f—king scum.

  12. Can you give reasons why you wouldn’t have a Greenmech? just for information to Jamie who started the thread knows issues and can make his own judgment.
  13. Yes that’s it DART was just wondering if there still going’s?
  14. Just wondering if the Disaster Response Team which was set up on here a few years ago as have’t herd anything of them for a long time as are they still operating in Europe and around Disaster Zones And has the pandemic shut them down? As the reason I asked is I was watching the terrible flooding occurring in France at the moment and noticed a bunch of guys there with chainsaws and just wonders if it was the Disaster Team or just Local guys?it looks terrible and my heart goes out to the families who have been affected and have lost family members, relatives and friends it looks really bad.
  15. I would never get into a debate or argument which is the best Chipper as all of them are winners and losers in different areas and can only give an opinion on previous experience of what make of Chippers I have had and or have used over the years and my own opinion is in every area Greenmech comes In the top 1/2 everytime from Machine Design, reliability, and I think most important there after sales service and backup. iam not saying any of the other makes don’t give you the same and I guess they do but you can only comment on your usage and experiences with other makes to allow you to give a valid and honest opinion and feedback and my honest opinion is Greenmech take some beating and are always moving forward with there designs and standard of work and reliability and for buying your first Chipper which is a big step no matter how much you are spending just take a look at Greenmech or even better make time to have each make in demo as all the makers will be only to happy to sort it for you then you can make up your own mind.
  16. Greenmech 150p or 165p Evo if your budget allows but then 130p is a fab first Chipper and will do everything you need.things are a bit slow as you can imagine but if you put your order in now it will probably take 2/3 may be 4 months..I have a 165p Evo on oreder and it’s been a couple of months now but am not in to much of an hurry..are you doing finance or buying?
  17. Ya I guess every cloud...when my lock up gone done I decided to keep all my chainsaws, hedge cutters and climbing equipment in the house as lucky enough to have a separate large cupboard,it’s the only way it’s safe unless they break into the house which is far less likely.ok fella glad all good and let’s hope they come back and your there to say hello.??
  18. Shame you didn’t get hold of them Gary and if you need any chainsaws etc to get you by for now get in touch and I will help you out. Things like this never get put in this local paper to make more people aware of the serious issue rural crime is and how it affects our livelihood. When I had my lock up broken into a couple of years ago I rang my local rural crime support and all I got was a load of promises and just words which means FA. To be fair the police are stretched to there limits at the moment and to be honest have been for years and thieves know this and play on it all the time and are very really caught. I was glad to read the police raid on then pikey site last week down in London and apart from the usual drugs, guns etc there was no mention of any machinery there was however around 30 stolen gundogs there which had been taken. A lot the chainsaws and other equipment are now stolen to order so as soon as they Nick the machines it’s gone with no trace. Hope you get sorted soon and the sad thing is no matter what we do to protect and store our equipment as safe as we can it will never be completely safe.
  19. Hi spud and sorry for late reply to your last post and just to say thank you for information given and I will be trying to see if the oil strainer from a stihl will fit over this weekend have just been to busy to do anything all week and I will obviously post on here if it works and thanks again for your help?
  20. Your a magician not as well as a genie...thanks spud and do you agree with takeing the gauze covering from over the oil filter to allowe more oil through on the 2511 to stop the chain tightening up or is this a no no? Promise not to rub the lamp again?
  21. Ty yes pumps do wear out as any other moving part....were is spud when you need him...help us spud??
  22. Hi Stuart got ya Ref gauze and same as Ty right from the get go always had an issue with chain tightening up. i use a Bio Oil so sounds like same issue as Ty. Thnaks both I will remove it and see how it go’s..got to be worth a go if nothing else,I wonder if Echo know of this problem with oil filter and wonder if same problem on any of there other saws?
  23. Yep I get that 100%...hope you and yours are all ok and keeping well and hopefully all back to some kind of normality very soon.
  24. Thanks Ty....do you mean you removed the gauze from the exhaust?
  25. Has anyone else had a problem with there CS-2511 Echo Topper? It’s my favourite little saw but for some reason after I use it 5/6 times the chain just keeps tightening up by itself.it went in for same problem which I thought they had sorted but after a combined use of around 2 hours it’s done exactly the same,it’s been in 3 times now for the same problem so jus t wondering if anybody else has has same problem? Only thing I can think of is the oiler stops working or get clogged up and clears its self sometimes.there is oil coming out but for such a small chainsaw it’s difficult to judge if enough..any ideas would be greatly received and welcome.?
