  1. Hi spud that’s not it the one it’s a Echo DCS 2500-T battery top handle saw..no lead or back pack just lit bat and charger.
  2. Been reading up on the new echo battery top handle and looks good and better then the stihl but reading the technical stuff it says only last 18/20mins on full battery charge which to me isn’t that great.so obviously need extra battery to make it worth while using, take 45mins to fully charge and cost is significant at £886 for saw,1 battery & charger so another battery will take cost up to close £1’000. obviously if you have other Echo battery stuff this will help as I think same battery system used in all there cordless range.
  3. I hear exactly what you are saying stu cultural differences will obviously dictate and come into play here which is very unfortunate and yes living here in the uk with dealerships close to hand and even the Greenmech factory 20mins down the road helps considerably with any issues that I or anybody else over here may have..was’t trying to pour salt into your wounds but just saying it like it is with the way I have found the customer service has been for me personally.anyway I hope you get sorted either way.
  4. Pete your quite right in what you say..when I brought my first machine I went through Global and had it on finance at 0% intrest and were very good and there after any issues I had I would ring and have a chat with Andy or Dan and if I couldn’t sort I would drop it in and it would get sorted and I would have a loan machine and there starts a good working relationship which has carried on with jase and lads at Greenmech to the extent that last summer the paint on my new 150p started to flake in some areas and after a couple of phone calls and photographs sent the machine went in for a complete breakdown and respray and as it happened I was away for 2 weeks and had another loan machine For another couple of weeks so it worked out well and when I had it back it was amazing job the boys had done and I even they even changed the fuel gauge(which by the way is pretty crap) but the 3 year parts and labour warranty is so comforting to know it’s there.so up to date is my 150p is in and I have a Evo 165 on loan which by the way is a great sales pitch because i’am already working out my finances and how much I can get for my 150 because I will be definitely going for a Evo 165p in the not to distant future.
  5. Stu I think you have some interesting data Regards fuel economy but it’s all lost on someone like me..if any of the Greenmech boys are reading this it may be of use to them or may be if you ever need any parts instead of fanning abkut with the French way of doing things maybe you could go direct and use Amazon?
  6. If anybody is worried about cost of fuel consumption in either Chipper and or vehicles is should be irrelevant really as £10/£20/£30 extra on a job should cover that anyway so fuel shouldn’t come into the equation same as costs of fuel/wear and tear on equipment and yard rentals any price of a job should reflect most of these factors ortherwise you won’t be staying in business very long or at the least not making as much profit as you should be...fuel/oil and machine maintenance doesn’t come for free.
  7. The 165 I have is the diesel...my 150p is 37hp petrol same as the 165p I think.iam crap when it comes to engine stuff.
  8. Ty,Dan..first day using the 165 which is a demo model the diesel which weighs in at 1000kg compared to 750kg of my 150p so massive difference towing and trying to move around.but apart from that all I can say is what a great machine so far and obviously it looks the nuts in its design only problem I had was not being able to see the rollers because of the plastic guide strips and when you are used to seeing the rollers it takes some getting used to.but apart from that it a really well balanced machine and is built to a high standard and useable from smallish job to much bigger ones if necessary and I would say if you brought this machine it really does cover all bases.i like the speed control variation for the roller, button for tick over and press for full throttle so very easy to use.so compared to the 150p there is no comparison the 165 is a totally different beast in the nicest possible way.personally if I was going to order one which is highly likely going by today I would go for then petrol version with a 37hp Briggs engine and up side it weighs in at around 880kg which would suit my needs much better.
  9. Yes it was until it got turned around.
  10. Easy eggs you mite blow a gasket....and unless you are deaf as well as stupid I said I wouldn’t be claiming anything unless I have too.the thing is you don’t like me and I certainly don’t like you but yet again you have made it personal..you just can’t help yourself.so let’s leave it there.
  11. Thanks for your kind words eggs...hope you get some work soon.good bye.
  12. Because it’s a view i’am making much like you...and like I said what’s it got to do with you if i’am working and make a comment..if you don’t like it don’t read it and don’t post a comment back...easy really.
  13. Not that it’s got anything to do with either of you but if I continue to work even though this month and next I won’t be claiming anything but if works suddenly drops off and I need to I will..so is that ok with you.
  14. What your point?
  15. Agree stubby but always ask for proof if they say they have.
  16. No harm in asking and shows he wants to work...I will be working tomorrow and Saturday but unavoidable but I don’t mind..I will have Monday off...and if I was in South Wales I would have gladly give him a couple of days..old saying is if you don’t ask the question you won’t know the answer.
  17. Paul you have done all the correct searches but were you can try and print information of so you have it to hand if and when you are required to show it,the other thing I would say that if you ever do this search again remember this is your time and you must charge accordingly.when you speak to clients in the future and you ask the question has the Tree got TPO on it or it sits in a Conservation Area and have they checked if they ever say no give them the option of doing it themselves via Local Council Website or ring...or make it clear that if you do it there will be a charge for your time..what you charge will be up to you but £60/£70 is bout what you should be charging.personally this is what i do I don’t charge clients for quotations but anything which involves checking for TPO’s,phone calls etc i class as extras and I charge accordingly unless they want to do that themselves. just a bit of advise
  18. Just wanted to say a big thank you to jase Hutch At Greenmech & the staff at Global especially Andy & Elliott for sorting the problem I have with my 150p..basically I started by asking a couple of questions at the beginning of this week regarding my machine smoking to jase the next thing I knew Andy from Global was on the phone asking some questions then before this week was out my 150p is in at Global for new fuel pump and have a 165 Evo to use for as long as mine takes to fix..now in normal circumstances that would be great service but with what’s going on at the moment I call that fantastic service by any stretch of the imagination. so thank you Greenmech & Global.?
  19. Well call me thick which to be fair i’am compared to some..but if something isn’t done quickly there will be not many SE left to take any tax off and as for waiting for June Eggs don’t hold your breath on that either...government promises don’t mean FA and that’s why I for one am still working.
  20. Ok so i’am all for charity and always do my bit mainly animal related but I still do my bit...so the chancellor has promised ££££££££millions for Charity’s to keep going and I just wonder we’re all this money is coming from to keep everyone happy and how quickly he will get the money to these charities? Not heard anything to do with SE payments for a while so will we be back of the queue when the hand outs begin...getting really pissed off now with all this talk and no action...think the more this goes on this government will start to lose control and in many ways it already has.
  21. Local council website will tell you...go to planing and follow link to trees..go TPO and Conservation Area..you need to put in post code of property and a map of that area should be available telling you if that particular tree has a TPO or if it sits in a Conservation Area or if blanket TPO...if that doesn’t work then ring and see if someone can help or they may have a tree officer.
  22. Hi Khriss

right basically I did a job couple of years ago for a construction company removing various trees and stumps for a car dealership extension and car park and must have done a half decent job cause the company who i did the work for has come back to me.

we had a site meeting Monday at a school which they are tendering for a big extension and lots of other work and approximately 15 tress of various size and age need to come out.

Eden Arborculture has done the tree survey and report but not a bat survey.so I have spoken to the main man and advised him that if he wins the tender it would be in his interest before any trees are removed to spend some money on a bat survey just to cover himself.

so if he gets it can I call on you to come up and do a survey and written report to say if clear or not Of bats?

if yes could you give me ball park figure of what it will cost please.

    kind Regards

    wayne

No issues with engine and seems to be fine.

      Hi Jase

had a call from Andy at Global today and we had a chat and basically I may have put to much oil in which may well be causing it to smoke but not 100% sure but when we talked about the starting issue he said it sounded like then fuel pump of which there has been some issues with and has advised not to use it.

so I will be dropping it over to Global tomorrow and swapping it for a Evo 165 until they change the fuel pump on mine which they don’t know when it will be done.

so thank you for all your help and advise,I was going to contact spencer but I believe you had a word with Andy so thanks for that...this is why I use Greenmech as I can’t think that I would have got this kind of help or service from anyone else.
