  1. Spud all what you say is spot on and a new virus maybe here sooner then we think, those evil bastards are still having there open air animal markets and have live dogs and other animals ready to be killed, chopped up and eaten, they are a evil race and no one can tell me any different that if a human being can kill a dog and roast it then in my book there is something seriously wrong with them.
  2. Ya don’t mind but there’s no barbers open so he’s fucked.
  3. Ok boys and girls back to the main topic....will we the (SE) be getting any help? Well not so far as our government cannot decide which is the best way to do it,looks like end of the week now that something may be sorted but let’s not all hold there breath...it’s a difficult thing for the government to sort out but threatening us the people with a £30 fine isn’t going to help the situation one bit..I for one will keep working until I know that something is in place for me not to go
  4. Nice little website Simon and ya I guess bad timing but now people are sitting at home twiddling there thumbs for a few weeks they will go in line more often..every cloud?
  5. Paramedic would be a good call?
  6. The minds a funny thing Dave it’s like when someone mentions fleas all of a sudden you start itching for some unknow reason and I have found myself second guessing myself when I do one off those stupid little coughs,is it or isn’t it. i have decided to go to work as the situation is as always with me,on my own apart from Weaver my sprocker, clients are speaking to me from the bedroom window just to say good morning so am just going to crack on. keep us updated on your wife and how things are panning out over there as it’s a good comparison.
  7. That’s really good to hear Dave and to have your wife at home is a positive and I hope all ok we also have a shortage of Coronavirus testing kits over here, but one doctor seems to have managed to sell 6’200 of them in a week at over £350 a pop and made a small fourtune he should be strung up by his balls in a public place with a notice stapled to his head. All the best for you and yours.
  8. Well it looks like SE will find out tomorrow how we will be helped out.it looks like 80% Of wages over previous 3yrs for long term SE with new SE needing proof in form of receipts and bank statements etc..it’s good to know that the government have come good on this but it’s going to be a nightmare to administer in a short time...just glad Boris is in the hot seat and not that twat corbyn..he wouldn’t have had a clue how to handle it.
  9. I will be going..working on my own as normal putting in some drainage and 5 minz from were I live and no contact with anybody.
  10. Yep many equations for the government to consider but may be base payment on £12’500 which is what you can roughly earn before you pay tax..I don’t know as i’am sure the government have there number crunchers doing over time right now but be sure of one thing what will be good for one won’t be good for another.
  11. That’s good to know and you can bet your bottom dollar if we had big trees like that in the uk some knobhead would try and set fire to it..had plans in place to go see the redwoods in big basin state park next year but obviously the dynamics of that have changed so not sure that will be happening now.
  12. Nice video and is that natural fire or man made damage?
  13. Up usual time this morning 5am quick read online and to see any updates I’d self employed will be getting any help and it seems the chancellor and his team may be putting a plan together to pay 80% of our wages averaged out over the last 3 years if this is the case fair play to the government for all they are trying to do and at least 80% will hopefully be enough for all of us to keep our heads above water,no news how long for though so see what they say, like to know what labour and that corbyn would have come up with to help.so glad that we will never know.
  14. We have got to do what we got to do as everyone’s situation is different and our individual mindset is different i starting working for myself many years ago cause I didn’t like being told what to do especially by people who didn’t know what the fuck they were doing...I still dont like being told what to do and i’am not going to like being told I can’t go out my house and to stay in or else...even though it’s the correct thing to do.
  15. I do get how scary and obviously life threatening this virus is but my situation is I work mostly on my own and on everyday working very rearly come into contact with the client apart from when making a site vist for quotation.you can still be able to work as it’s all out side and still be sensible about it.
  16. With you on that one pie..I have work booked in and until someone says not to come a cancel I will keep going cause the bottom line is i have no fucking choice..if I don’t work I get nothing...I have just sold a truck and was going to use the money to spend on my other truck which needs new shocks, upgrade leaf spring and a few other bits and pieces but looks like I will have to set that aside now as cover even though I don’t live hand to mouth I live alone apart from my dog but have the normal everyday out goings as everyone else and not much in savings...I will just keep going.
  17. Yes and I totally agree with everything you pointed out but as many on have jobs which have been booked in are starting to get cancelled or at the very best postponed until whenever. some of us have some saving but that won’t last long i was thinking more of the guys who have Chippers and trucks and machinery on finance and bank loans, public liability and employment insurance and will still have to find the monthly payments for all that unless they have insurance to cover it.??????
  18. Thank both of you for your understanding and calling it a day on the issue you have..I wish like many knew what was going on but getting back to the fact I really don’t know how the government can help apart from giving us the basic £90 odd and may be helping out with VAT but there is a lot out us self employed who are not VAT registered so that’s not going to help.
  19. Come on lads if you have an issue with each other that’s fine but sort it by pm and even though I don’t know either of you I would guess you are both 2 decent hard working guys and I know threads do seem to go in a other direction sometimes and I guess with all what’s going on in the world may be we are all a bit more sensitive then normal...all I would like to know as the thread is based on does anyone know the ins and outs of if any will the self employed be getting any help and so far not much info either online, social media or one here so I guess we are all nine the wiser.
  20. Ok so no one one here has a feckin clue if the self employed will be getting any help..fair enough...ask a stupid quotation.
  21. Hi Sky my partner is a nurse and runs a unit and a big % of her every day Work is based around alcohol related issues and stoping these people drinking in a pub won’t stop them drinking twice as much at home especially if they are on lockdown its an argument with a no win situation...anyway any ideas how the self employed will get any payment for not being able to work?
  22. I posted a comment on here a couple of weeks ago in relation to lock down and if the self employed people in this country be it one man band or big set up will be getting any financial help during these unprecedented times and it seemed no one really knew how it was going to pan out apart from may be applying for universal credit? 2 weeks later things have moved on and the government are doing all they can to help in the financial sense(for PAYE) but i’am still in the dark as to what he has put into place for self employed,Granted i’am not the brightest candle in the church and there are far more intelligent people who post on here then me so has anyone got a clue or idea what is is place for us?i would like to Strees I think our Government has a god forsaken task at the moment and doing all they can but some of there ideas are well over the top in my opinion shutting all pubs, clubs, restaurants etc is I think a step to far. Your going to get these same dumbass people who have been stockpiling toilet rolls, pasta and striping the shelves of food going out and stocking up on booze now, some people are complete knobheads and the government hasn’t helped this situation and I know there are damned if they do and double damned if they don’t,it’s just a personal view that some things should just be left alone and let the people decide if they want to go to the pub or for a meal.
  23. Fingers crossed Paul it go’s ahead and like you say a lot can happen between now and September.
  24. Looking at that picture you wouldn’t think we have had storms and flooding over the last few weeks...looks happy to be in the sunshine.
  25. What a shit, this bastard virus is wiping out the whole year and we won’t ever get it back,APF will cancel next.
