    plumbers?

Don't forget to anneal (heat) the pipes before bending them. Google/Youtube it if you haven't already.

    plumbers?

Never actually tested my theory but always assumed the imperial is the inside diameter and the metric is the outside diameter, basically they are the same.
  3. My Dad has blown loads of them up yet he still charges them next to the bench when using a grinder.
  4. Always thought they look nice in the towns but would be a nightmare if you were likely to get mud on them.
  5. Put it in a shed or poly tunnel then. Works the same as with logs.
  6. It’s like getting grants, funding and subsidies for using tumble driers when there’s nowt wrong with your washing line.
  7. Mine can vary that much on the same log anyway, even more so if the batteries are dying. Just make up a calibration certificate on a word processor and tell him yours is accurate and for a fiver you will take his and calibrate it.
  8. I would expect some difference if you were comparing a log fairly fresh out of the kiln with an air dried log that has got down to 20%. After not very long stored in the same conditions they would be exactly the same because both will change according to atmospheric moisture anyway.
  9. I would never have a dodgy MOT to get a dangerous vehicle to pass but nor would I take a vehicle to a MOT station that failed it for a stupid light on the dash. Especially one that didn't know why the light was on
  10. Including the Ford Field engineer no doubt. its an expensive hobby on newer motors to just keep fitting new bits in a hope it fixes the problem. There seems to be much less of the "oh yes, I know what that will be" kind of mechanic these days. The price of the latest and greatest gee-whizzery I guess.
  11. The bit where you said UK only produces 5% of electric using coal. If I've read it wrong I apologise
  12. Don't kid yourself our country isn't burning coal. Everything we buy is made in China who power everything from coal. The coal being shifted from Australia to China has to be seen to be believed. We may not charge electric cars up using coal but we certainly use shitloads to make the cars in the first place. Our consumerism is driving a massive coal burning economy. I'm all in favour of UK electric being pretty green and it's a good example to others. We are absolutely pissing in the wind with it unless we look at the bigger picture. It's like becoming vegan to save the world from cows farting and then chopping down the Amazon rain forest to grow soya.
  13. And they would have eaten all the newts, bats and badgers in the process. On the flip side, governments are often criticised for not updating the country's infrastructure. Damned if they do, damned if they don't! As far as I'm concerned there should be a big fence near Watford Gap. Keep the buggers down there.
  14. Slightly more expensive than elsewhere due to density of population/houses. The rest goes on newt surveys, badger rehoming and batwatchers.
  15. He didn't get off to a very good start
  16. Mate of mine built a cage in a racecar and then couldn't get out.
  17. Knew a chap that had a successful gardening business in a very affluent local town. He ran it with a presentable but oldish Transit van but socially he drove a brand new top spec Range Rover. He said round here it would be almost suicidal to turn up in a vehicle newer or better than the customers own vehicle.
  18. It’s going to f**k up your Sky signal too.
  19. Having absolutely all records online bothers me, one for security reasons as people can and do break in (ask Travelex about that one!) and secondly I am not confident they might break down and the whole lot disappears. Never mind the fact that my internet connection is very unreliable. You can probably download and print it all out daily but who does that.
  20. I do like being able to create, edit and get signatures on invoices on my phone. Prefer to do the creating and editing on desktop but very useful to be able to do it on phone if needed. ps. had a look and QB does do stock. Haven't played with it much but have done VAT returns with it.
  21. More likely I am not using it properly
  22. I have given my accountant access and they can see if I am putting things in the right columns etc
  23. I use Quickbooks for my business. It doesn't do stock control and nor does it collate with banking. I think it can do the bank thing but haven't wanted to give it access to my bank account.
  24. I dwell in mine and I know it isn't exactly legal. There was some research done locally to see just how many folk were living in mobile homes that shouldn't be. The numbers were so high I wondered why action hadn't been taken to end it. I think one reason is nobody is complaining so let sleeping dogs lie, especially if you don't have the resources to deal with it. Another reason is they would have to find somewhere for a lot of them to live as they would be homeless, so as per thread title they are helping with the housing crisis.
  25. My gut feeling is the brown spots are secondary infection of a dying leaf rather than the cause.
