  1. What sort of grease_ gear/light engineering/red gear/just what comes to hand first grease? That made me chuckle. As did that.
  2. Not bad even if the comforting rain is elsewhere right now. Been dry most of the day and not cold. More of the same later today if forecast is correct.
  3. Nice idea having it hung on wall in custom made thingy. But how it would ruin ones day, if one discovered a piece to be 3mm longer than the rest. And thus protruding from the stack. It would be enough, to hurl oneself off the top of the custom built wood store into the jacuzzi on moonlit night.
  4. Quite so; but the deal had nothing to do with the pub. Besides, it's not like they were glassing each other and throwing the jukebox through the window. Ah, bikers' Friday at the Wellington. Lovely frontage, all tiled with brass fittings inside. Police would turn out and wait outside. Anyone who came out through a window got nicked, anyone who came out through a door got nicked. When there was no noise from inside, the coppers would venture in, nick those lying on the ground and attempt to nick any others still standing. No point in commuting suicide for a job.
  5. Flying out the window. Really must get that window repaired and learn to open the door. (If your wondering how I got in, if not through the door. I got in through the chimney last Christmas and have been here ever since.)
  6. Came real close to getting one myself. In the end, I decided that if I was going to have to lug weight around, I'd prefer the extra power, so got the H' 545 instead. But of all the saws on my shortlist, the MS241 C-M was the best balanced and best in hand. The 241 is so much more but basically it's an all day snedding weapon and not what I needed. Not sorry I went for the 545 but there's still part of me that hankers after an MS241.
  7. Banks and building societies have associations - nothing keeps them in line if they choose to break laws or the trust of their customers. Can't reasonably blame this situation on not having an association. As to the 'Mods' or Steve 'leaning' on the offender. As has already been said, it's not the job and they may not what to get involved in any case. Imagine two people meet through a mutual like of the same pub. A suggest to B that he has something to sell. A deal is done but it all goes pear shaped. Would you really expect the publican and or staff to wade in on either side? Not the their job; the pub is run in a reasonable manner and has a high reputation, in part due to most of its customers getting on well together. Tis rotten when things don't work out. But no recorded contract, so not much that can be done. Sympathy your way, yes.
  8. Well I'll be off soon. No real wind during night but there are lots of puddles. But the sun is out and only a few small puffy clouds.
  9. Not cold, not windy but a tad on the wet side. Supposed to be in the woods today but not too sure about it. Don't want to spend day dodging branches.
  10. Some moan about getting old. He just gets on with it. What a great guy; he and Fred Dibnah would have got on well.
  11. Most people derobe before showering.
  12. "Splitter! Splitter!"
  13. Can't remember the title of Z80 game but you had to catch a lion. Wizard of Wor on C64 Jetpac on Spectrum Sonic the Hedgehog on Megadrive Monoply on the PS Bubblet on the Palm Bubble Megashift on iPod Touch Nowt on PC, as I don't play games in this format.
  14. Don't get many cute seats but that one.
  15. Large deep wicker basket, when I'm around the fire.
  16. Grey and warm - something's pushing it! There's a front on its way. But maybe it'll break-up before getting to your area.
  17. You could email Echo http://www.echo-tools.co.uk/ [email protected] and ask after a demo saw in your area. Worth a try - it's either yes or no.
  18. Had a look online but nothing more than your results. Ring your local dealers, ask what they have, (and what they'd be willing to deliver/send). Then compare that cost against collection. The Internet is a great thing but it's not always the best option.
  19. A tad damp out at the mo'. But no wind and not cold. Comforting yes; but I'd not like to be working in it.
  20. Maybe not but getting rid of your neighbour might be a good first step. Out of general imterest, was there a particular reason why they severed roots?
  21. Ah, thank you. I wondered if I was talking backwards when I typed it. I stand corrected Also, I didn't know about octane loss in old fuel. An education just being here.
  22. This would be pinking would it not.
  23. Raining a bit, as has been for past 48hrs. Light drizzle during day with light wind but not cold. Then heavier rain with no wind during night and slightly cooler but not cold. At this rate, I'll never get the hydrangea hardened-off and ready for planting.
  24. Fifth Gear did a test on the major's premium fuels. Can't remember the results but do remember there not being much between them. Have a gander through these: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=fifth+gear+premium+fuel&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari&gws_rd=ssl .
  25. Have no idea what XP stands for. The 555 supposed to be a detuned 560XP but the latter has things that the 555 doesn't, so you couldn't just tune up the 555 to make it a 560XP. Just as you couldn't simply turn a 545 into a 550XP. Though the differences between the 545 and 550XP are closer, than those between the 555 and 560XP. The 555 is reliable. And the 2013 & 2014 550XP and 560XP seem to have had their gremlins removed.
