  1. Have a gander through here: http://www.hedgelaying.org.uk/longforest.html . There may well be a hedge laying course/s coming up. So email Rachel for more info. PM sent.
  2. Pack of big nasty dogs, laser guided ordnance, frag grenades and killer goldfish.
  3. Regardless of what you may think of next door's shrubbery. How would you feel if your neighbour hopped over and removed half your flowers/veg or smashed your prize winning gnomes?
  4. PM sent.
  5. ... and today warm and dry.
  6. Have a look at Husqvarna here http://husqvarnagroup.com/en/about/history and here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Husqvarna .
  7. Chilly and damp.
  8. 4L £36.90 inc. http://wildstoves.co.uk/wild-cooking-equipment/4-litre-dutch-oven/ 8L is £47.90 inc.
  9. If you're going to get yourself that type of cookware. Do yourself a favour and get one with a flat top. So if you ever use it on an open fire, you can load the top with embers, which cooks the food more evenly and uses less fuel.
  10. What's the point in getting hacked off at this point. If you don't get the job, they pay out and nothing lost. If they get back to you at your quoted price, you get what you quoted for, even if that's not what you would have as an ideal. It helps if you like the people you work for but when it comes down to it, it's a job and food on your plate. Not a popularity contest. Just don't let them bid you down!
  11. The name 'Sykes' brings to mind different things to different people. Give it a twist; and whenever I hear the name Sikes, I think of a bulldog in league with a thug.
  12. Can't they just leave it to rot. Hell, it's not long for this world and surrounded by the dead. Kinda fitting me thinks. Or is the mad world of 'H+S' having its day?

    Raglan

Recommendations please, for tree companies/cutters who cover the Raglan area. Friends have recently bought some land, that has a large tree that needs felling. Don't know what it is, other than that it's a hardwood (I've got some photos somewhere) I'll see see if I can find them.
  16. Never had much luck with drinks can stoves. Have great difficulty fitting the things together. Made two but tried half a doz. much prefer my Woodgas LE, even if I did pay for it.
  17. To the same song but different tune. What do people reckon to Oregon-Stihl-Granberg ripping chains? I've only milled with offerings from Granberg, which are great. But is Oregon/Stihl's ripping chains worth a punt?
  18. Good luck with your saw. Let us know how you get on with it.
  19. £269.00 on a 14" bar at http://www.abbeygardensales.co.uk/subprod/solo-german-chainsaws-0003578.aspx
  20. He'd been garden for over a year to to help pay for the truck. As to why he needs the truck. Wanted to do more mowing, strimming, clearing cluttered garden, etc.
  21. Knew a lad who was gardening and trying to arrange a pickup for business. He found one for around £1200. But before buying, he sought for insurance quotes. Cheapest he was quoted, for business but not full comp, was £2500. He didn't get the truck and is still limited to gardens he can either walk or bus to.

    Fuelling

Spud, Gardenkit & Wisco will be along shortly.
  23. Well it was supposed to be dry today but was blowing and tamped down earlier. Now it's soaking. Cat went out then came back it a few minutes later - sensible creature.
  24. Is it Stihl or nothing or are other makes possibilities?
  25. Tried "Copy to my device" and waited 10mins., then it timed out. I didn't see the point in trying again. By the way, I can cut a tree but also remember the first pocket calculators going on sale. So you'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge in some disciplines.
