  1. Recently saw a plumber who's company name is Pipe Dreams.
  2. Ay up. Blowtorch meets hair dryer.
  3. Don't know about Sweden but in Denmark, an alkylate fuel is compulsory if cutting in their version of SSSI or within national parks. As you say, alkylate fuel will still form carbon particulates; but much reduced.
  4. Don't know for sure if this place can help but it's worth a try: http://www.mister-solutions.co.uk/products/stihl-041-041-av-041-fb--041-g-chainsaw-341-c I know it not a saw for you. But for next time/ this time something snaps off.
  5. Ditto. Plus they threw in 5L Oregon bar oil & a filing kit.
  6. If you can afford it - Mac. If you want bang for bucks - Dell. I suspect there'll be a need for Microsoft compatibly but if not, just install 'OpenOffice' for free. These days 500GB is a small HD and I can't see a need more, unless there's going to be lots of video and or audio and or hungry games content. If there's a choice between more RAM or a bigger HD for the same £s, go for more RAM. Data can be backed-up onto an external HD or through 'cloud' storage; leaving more room on the internal HD. No point in having a large HD, (or SSD) stuffed with data, if the important stuff isn't being backed-up somewhere else. Get a faster CPU over RAM and get more RAM over a larger HD. SSD can save the battery, as there's no moving parts to power. Basically, a SSD is a big flash drive and are generally reliable. But important data still needs to be backed-up. Read speeds on a top end HD are compatible with those of a SSD. Read speeds on an average HD are nowhere near those of a SSD. But where SSDs excel, are write speeds, where they can write almost as fast as they read. Computers with SSDs are also likely to be lighter in weight than one with a HD.
  7. Yes they should be capable... but will they be willing to do so? My view is that a dealer who refuses to carry out warranty work, is cutting their nose off to spite their face. I agree. But if they wanted to refuse and not have a come-back. Could just say they had too much work on. Fiat dealer in Colchester used to use just such an excuse. But the then manager, was a miserable soul at the best of times.
  8. I thought you were going to say, you returned it so they could fill their burgers with more of the same.
  9. I reckon most will begrudgingly carry out warranty work. But don't expect them to be quick. Mind you, I wouldn't counter on all dealers being quick anyway. You just have to live with what you're presented with; main thing is to have a backup saw if your livelihood depends on it.
  10. When it's time to get a saw. It's time to look around for deals. Put that against your nearest dealer/best dealer in your area. Then go for which one will work best for you.
  11. Well it rained last night and the bins blew over. Such things happen, nothing unusual. I was hoping for a bit more rain today, otherwise I'm going to end up sifting soil. But at least the cedar cladding is done. But now waiting on warmer weather to oil it.
  12. Cold with a few showers.
  13. Mix it between the Met. Office, XC Weather and when in Cumbria, the Felltop Forecast.
  14. If you're not keeping the 241, then get the 441. If you keeping the 241, then I'd suggest a 660/661.
  15. Pretty good, light drizzle but predominantly fine. Only marred by four doors away burning leaves and the smoke hanging about. Might get outside cedar done tomorrow, maybe the day after depending on the weather. Hope to get a first coat of oil on before the weather breaks.
  16. I just found four oak logs that needed ringing for firewood. Got them lined up 2x2 either side of me. Occasionally after de-limbing, it then bogs in a thicker cut. But just carry on and find some thicker stuff and it all the vigour returns, (I'm talking about the saw.)
  17. Have you seen his website and the creations of Cummfy Banana?
  18. I like the table but it's not an original concept and is a stupid price. Someone is bound to buy it at some point and that person will have taste; but more money than sense.
  19. Seen a few where they made a few grand profit and a few more where they doubled their initial outlay. I reckon they make the real money in marketing the series.
  20. Ok, yes. But if someone turns up and you're in CS clobber, you're stuffed. Get the big Silky and be warm next winter. Plus carrying a Silky is a lots easier than carrying a bowsaw.
  21. Yep! Bar length thick log, 3-5mins. and don't let off the throttle. Clean the air filter before cutting, so the saw gets the best of what's available.
  22. Chilly morn but no frost. Replaced three of the 4-cores for 5-core and got some more sifting done. Tomorrow, it's erecting scaffolding towers, start fitting cedar and some Christmas decorating. And if there's any daylight left... more sifting.
  23. It's going to be a chilly one.
  24. You could contact the BHS: http://www.hedgelaying.org.uk/ .
  25. Ay. It right cold here it fine. And the cedar has eventually arrived but the chippy can't make it till Monday. But got boundaries sorted, so no marauding dog from next door. Still sifting soil; easy but mind numbing.
