  1. Not to mention customers/ potential customers.
  2. So much for the new Stihl policy. Now i'm not going to name and shame the company responsible, but i placed an order online and look what turned up - six of the bloody things, no face to face handover to see if i knew what to do with them or if they were the right products for me:scared1: Come to think of it i didn't even order them:001_tongue: Seriously though, great prices, service, packaging and delivery:thumbup1: Thanks guys.
  3. Don't see why not, just upload a photo and description. I have always been 100% against FB for many reasons. However nowadays everything needs linking - website, FB, Twitter (haven't got there yet)...... A business page is different to a personal page in that as far as i can tell i can't look for or correspond with people unless they contact me first. I've just set up a page and use it for what it is - a free advertising tool. The only downside is that but the time you've finished work, replied to emails, done your paperwork, updated the website and updated your FB page, the night's gone:confused1: Regards, Steve.
  4. Couple of thoughts. Silkys i believe are carbon steel so wouldn't last five minutes in the harsh marine environment - rusty blades H&S issue? Try a good dive knife. Serrated one side and straight the other with a line cutter built in and a proper marine grade stainless. Fitted in a click in scabbard and can be strapped to arm/leg/clipped to clothing and secured by curly lanyard. If i trust mine 100m under water it should be good enough anywhere Regards, Steve.
  5. Cheap crappy Clarke, same as the box, but you're right it's light and good enough to hold a saw
  6. Top full of usual tools including specific sockets/torx/spanners for chipper blade change even dismantle. Also safety glasses and grease. Three drawers then to keep the different chains and files grouped together. Vice on top saves bolting to chipper/van and i've always got the toolbox with me, block of wood fixed to support weight of larger saws when in vice. Had to reinforce the top with a sheet of ply though. Works for me.
  7. Thanks Dave, just had a look. If it's this one Plant & Machinery AuctionEast Anglian Motor Auctions it's been removed.
  8. As per the title, i'm looking for a second hand TP200 turntable. I know they're like rocking horse manure and i can't stretch to a new one. I missed the one that Osbournes let go for £6K earlier this year Apparently there's a guy in Devon who runs about six of them, anyone know who he is or if he's looking to chop any in? Regards, Steve.
  9. The beatings will continue until morale improves........
  10. "But I just thought....." (I don't give a toss what your 30 years of experience has taught you, this way looks easier and i'm a lazy toad)
  11. If you're using an Alaskan you'll lose 6" of bar length and i've got a feeling the 372 should only be running 24" bar so looking at milling 18" - any more and it's off to the toy shop
  12. It's even harder than this.... I cnduo't bvleiee taht I culod aulaclty uesdtannrd waht I was rdnaieg. Unisg the icndeblire pweor of the hmuan mnid, aocdcrnig to rseecrah at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mttaer in waht oderr the lterets in a wrod are, the olny irpoamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rhgit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whoutit a pboerlm. Tihs is bucseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey ltteer by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Aaznmig, huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghhuot slelinpg was ipmorantt! See if yuor fdreins can raed tihs too.
  13. Go for the narrow kerf one with the 95vpx (.325 .050 72dl) chain - it saps less power. Works for me.
  14. Had one visit me on Monday whilst connie bashing (topping) then looked down and saw two young in a nest a couple of feet below my line....thought we were out of nesting season!
  15. Don't forget bigger trucks and you're into the joys of 'O' licensing...
  16. Depends on your van and license. The Iveco is 3.5t but is plated for a 3.5t trailer as well - that's why i went for the bigger engine. For that i think you'll need a pre '97? license or a trailer test (not sure as i have Class 1 anyway). HTH Steve.
  17. Coughed up a huge whelk and dispatched it with great force only to remember too late that my mesh visor was down, the sort only a jet washer could remove Lobbed a really greasy bit of pasty out of the truck for the birds (in the yard) only to have it bounce back in my lap as the window was still closed - left a lovely mess. Drove off with the hiab up once and got at least two miles before hitting a railway bridge, not sure how many phone/ power lines etc. were on the way:blushing: And just to fit in, the odd paving slab with chogs coz the groundy had cleared half the brash mat...
  18. 200' of connie topping this week and another load next week. It was nice to break into a Buddleia jungle today just to get a break:sneaky2: Still it pays the mortgage till a couple of nice big dismantles get passed by the council:biggrin:
  19. Although not in your area - J&S LANDSCAPING + We Do Men And Wood Chipper For Day Hire | eBay - it gives you an idea. A quick search on here will pick up a recent thread about a guy offering himself with a chipper for £200 per day. Plenty of other Fleabay ads for £180. HTH. Steve.
  20. Agreed, some really useful info here. I'm seeing the owner of this beech on Tues/Wed and if i get the go ahead there will certainly be plenty of pics. Thanks all.
  21. Thanks for that Alec:thumbup1: by the time I finish typing a post the thread has moved on!!
  22. Rob, Thanks for that - really useful info there. I was just thinking about the possibility of a single piece table top 12' long and 43" wide from the centre cut:001_smile: If i take a first cut off the top, would the MiniMill be ok with 36" bar to halve down the middle as opposed to freehand? Regards, Steve.
  23. I had thought of taking a bit off the ends to hopefully see what it's like. I don't have a problem ringing it up, just thought it would be a good excuse to buy some more gear:blushing: Regards, Steve.
