  2. as far as i am aware, the 2000 did not sport the coswoth designation. only the RS 200, sierra saphire, sierra rs 500 and escort in the ford line had the badge. however they did also use the badge engine wise on the ford granada cosworth.
  3. from my post, and a link on the last page. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/alaskan-mill/55159-burr-oak-burl-tool-questions.html
  4. yeh got the mini, just awaiting a straight edge and she`s ready.
  5. TP is good, a little pricey, but yeh another tool in the box. i would suggest an hour paying with it, quite an art as i found its initially very grabby but after a little use the edge is off slightly and works much better. s
  6. thanjks guys, pretty much along the lines i was thinking. they will be looking for i would of though 4x4"7ft posts as they are looing for general purpose material for whatever and making arbors around the garden. trunk quantity unknown as of yet, trunk quality should be high as they are woodland oaks, essentialy thinnings i suppose of 20"+.
  7. selling at that price per cube is rediculous in my mind. and i am sure locals who you where seriously under cutting may be offended as well. heck, i would even wanna cut and process for that kinda dough. down south here a bag make 65+. make sure you get a decent saw too as logging up can take a toll, especially on hard woods.
  8. wow, never thought i would ask such a question and i know its a " how long is a piece of string" type question. whats the best format pricing for CSM? a day rate? or cu ft? what do others price themselves out at or how? i have a client that has some Oaks that need dealing at some point, and i wanna be prepared thanks, simon
  9. how do you keep its square? doesnt the saw have a tendancy to pull with no guide rails?
  10. Alec, how long do the drums last in general in relation to the sprockets? should i get two sets or 1 drum and some spare rims? wat say? s
  11. whats on my mates bench, was, is my 090. original ebay listing was " lack of fuel" so we presumed a bad set of carb gaskets etc. gasket came, took carb off to find some numpty had snapped the 6mm stud off in the cylinder head oh and not forgetting the same animal we presume had broken a tap in the top engine casing mounting hole in the fins and then there was the lack of spark no less from the points so my dad has taken the head to work to remove said items so we can move forward hopefully without further ado but the pot n all looks in good condition so atleast they wont need replacing bewarned of ebay tools!!!!!! s
  12. looks good. must hav a go with a spoon. but, if its anything like my bit of dead spalted holly, shes gonna split real nice in many places
  13. we dont use sand, whilts is speads lovely as noted the grass will go yellow quickly as there is, well no nurtients in it. we use a fine grade sanded double compost from our local green waste merchant. all green wast debris rechurned and churned and churned again and again, its not cheap at £32m3 but its superb and we also use it for our raised beds and vegatable beds we build. s
  14. how can that Ash log, yield £1200 or more? or am i missing a serious trick somewhere
  15. I looked in to that trolley. What a cost! Gonn make one with two wheel barrow tyres i feel
  16. It is rather nice. Only showed a few of the boards but many have significant colouration to them. Looks like at some point someone wacked home copper nail as well some greeney tint to one endbof the tkmber. It was gonna be made in to a rustic style chair but feel a good table top will come from it. Just need to ask about kilning a few slabs in 8 months time and costs involved. Simon
  17. Thanx. Will keep me eyes peeled
  18. now, dont get me wrong here, ive never posted any footagwe of my work. but i totally agree here. perhaps a modification of your risk assement is over due, if your groundie finds this when you up the top of the tree? after 17yrs exp climbing, and 10yrs working for my college assesor as a a main climber, i know how to tie knots, and using some sort of double wrapped overhand granny knot is not good in my view. also that knot in the rope reduces the working limit by huge margins if used on BIG timber and i would certainly not be proud of showing these vids to the open world on utube. and that goes for a sink at that angle as well, or was it a step cut? now, you dont know me, and i don know you, so perhaps the above comments are harsh. but 1 video was enough for me. in my view showing any form of professional work needs to be up to scracth to be shown on this type of site. sorry. good luck:001_smile: s
  19. taking a reading from the side of any timber is not recomended. most moisture travels thru the ends of logs not out thru the side. take a reading from each end, and a middle and average.
  20. 1000k a year. wow thats cheap. ive just bought a 1000ltrs and that was £766 and will last 3 months if iam lucky:thumbdown: logs here will do 70 tops hard delivered but iam burning most of mine to keep warm myself:001_smile:
  21. Well, a big thanks to Welcome to Copford Farm Sawmill, oak, green, seasoned, beams, saw mill, Horam, Heathfield, East Sussex, BS5756, TRADA, timber grading, graded oak, grade, TH1, TH2, THA, THB, Alex Gingell, Harry Gingell, sustainable, restoration, timber supplies, supp for milling a real ugly lump of Yew i had taken over there. After a cuppa tea, and a big 1/4" gauge 6" nail in the wood which harry caught with the mill, we started to get some good looking boards. then, after another 3 nails and 3 blades later a few more boards arrived. the colouring due to the nails was quite intense, as was the language!!! the boards where 7ft long by upto 25" diameter Harry and Lex, a big thank you simon
  22. And my stihl 090 will smoke all of the above as well :D But thats not a mid range saw. Thats a BIG saw:001_smile:
  23. Ive got love for the older 064. Power to weight is exceptional and runs a 36" no problem.
  24. my birthday last month and a mate came up and had a play. he bought some wood along, here its a small lump of ash.064+36" mill [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGdHK6Fvips]Sawmill in action MVI_5131 - YouTube[/ame]
