We had some decent Abus locks on our unit last year but rather than attack the lock they cut the hinge of the shackle. Oxy cut it off then just opened door. A lock is only any good if the surround it is fitted to is also strong/awkward to break through. For anyone that has an alarm system fitted I'd highly recommend a master blaster and fog screen. Once one of those blasters goes off (inside even better) you really won't hang around for long before you damage your ears.

If you limit who you sell a product to then the cost of that item will rise accordingly. Are you happy to pay a lot more for your chains, saw etc just to stop cowboys getting access to them? Those costs will have to be passed onto someone....your customers. Will they be happy to pay a lot more for tree work? Most don't like paying the price now let alone if costs go through the roof because you want to stop cowboys undercutting you and doing poor work. Just my opinion and other angle to look at. :-)

SNowing here and has been for a few hours on and off. One minute snow, then sleet, then thunder and lightening, stops for 20 minutes then snows again. It's damned windy too! Video below is off facebook on the M62 tonight...Look at them lampposts dance!

Just spoke to a very good mate of mine as he runs a successful remapping company in Staffs. Asked him if it can be done properly rather than a 'tuning plug in'. His reply below... No it can't be done because of the Ecu technology used, that might change but as of now it's a no go The only thing you might be able to get for it is a tuning box (however) unless you get a good one like a Tunit it's pretty much a crap shoot as to if it will work at all or if it will damage the car The remapping industry is awash with Cowboys and conmen so he needs to be aware that some will say they can do it, yet actually not do a thing and still charge him for it. Hope the info helps.

L200...close on the hours worked and occasionally driven by blonde wife but mostly bouncing it around on the farm working. Mrs isn't a fan of it because she struggles to reverse park it without using the towbar as a bump stop....

I haven't done much today at all. Woke up with the mother of all headaches and came home at lunchtime as I couldn't concentrate. Attempted to tidy a few things up at home and gave up. Went to bed at 1pm thinking my head was going to explode. Woke at 6pm feeling worse and still up now wide awake. Been discussing the erection of another outbuilding with a farmer friend for feb. I can't even remember what else I was going to post as this headaches making me lose all track of thought.

+1. Some councils charge you for it too. Manchester a charge is £32 from memory so factor in for an extra charge to your customer.

It's all well and good hoping Tescos or any big chain goes under but if they do, what then happens to all the farmers, Dairy/meat or veg that supply exclusively their goods to these supermarkets? I know two dairy farmers that supply milk exclusively to Tescos and are constantly screwed down on price but have no other options to sell to. If Tesco's drop them as suppliers then they will go under as they have no one else to sell to and have invested heavily in equipment and standards to meet Tesco's demands. WHilst they may not be the best company in the world they do keep a huge amount of the country financially afloat.

Second that! Always love the first smell of fresh cut grass of the year too. Them 'vinegar leaf' things you used to smell by rivers near the woods. Reminds me of when my grandad used to pick us up on a sunday morning with his collie for a run in the woods. Rope swings, conkers etc. Let us do all the stuff your parents were scared of seeing you do. Rope swing over a gorge, climbing trees for the best conkers etc. My nan used to own a bakery and on a weekend we would go down and pick up a freshly baked apple pie.....Now that smell even now takes me back to being a kid!

Absolutely! Had the back of my motor full of oak rings before now and they handled it no problem with no obvious signs of it dragging it's back end. Towed a huge excavator on it's trailer that was nose heavy with no problems too. The only downside is stiff springs equals a harsh ride when empty. Bounces over speed humps etc.

A new shape 5p coin to seal a radiator compression connection when it failed spectacularly late one saturday evening. Couldn't find a stop end or blank and didn't fancy paying for a plumber at 10.30pm. Used my belt on a mates van when his exhaust fell off the rear rubbers on the M6. Wrapped it round the chassis and exhaust and carried on our journey. Think he sold it 6 months later and I never did get that belt back......

Gisburn auction mart between Clitheroe and Skipton. Easy to find online with lots showing what's for auction. Not sure how often they have them though but their site should tell you when the next ones on.

Tongs a fantastic venue. Raced there many times over the years with Dirtbike traxs and done a few Fast Eddy training days there. COuldn't make this weekend to watch but heard it was excellent.

Depends on where it came from, is it seasoned? How good a hinge it left, if it was recovered by a grab or quad, whether the branches off it were walked or run to the chipper, but more importantly was it cut down with a Stihl or Husky?

What did you drive off in? If it wasn't a hilux or a mog you will be burned at the stake (a hardwood seasoned one) by the forum. You may have to wait for said burning mind as no one can find decent hardwood cord though....
