  1. Bought myself a new l200 4life club cab last week ,lets hope it serves me as well as the series 3 land rover that its replacing after 20yrs!
  2. Excuse me for being particular but VOSA is no more! The latest incarnation /rebrand is called DVSA Driver and vehicle standards agency.
  3. The front linkage came from a company in Ireland called danso machinery, cost me about £500 with vat and carriage.I had to add a double acting spool valve as well so I added 2- one on front one on rear.
  4. I have cut around 2 acres of rough grass recently with my tiny Kubota B5001 and a 1m topper! The growth was about 4ft high in places and taller than the tractor, took me around 4hrs using high range first gear. The little tractor hardly grunted at the load on its 12hp!! :001_smile:
  5. A couple of pics from work a few years ago. Tipper drivers are like sheep, one goes and the others follow!
  6. Some of the old B series kubotas have a diverter valve just under the front of the seat allowing you to select tractor or external hydraulic services, just connect to this and connect return line to the gearbox/rear axle oil filler. Some, including my own tractor have not got this valve but have a port with a blanking plug just under the seat that you could connect a supply to.This only pressurises when the rear link arms reach the top limit of their travel- ok for tipping trailers but not ideal for running a log splitter Also these tractors have ample pressure for a splitter but very little flow so would probably be frustratingly slow in operation. Better to use a pto powered pump I think.
  7. I wouldn't fancy driving mine on the road it does around 8mph flat out and probably get mistaken for a mobility scooter!:laugh1:
  8. bought a backhoe for mine this summer, runs it brilliantly. its a bit heavy for the old girl but I got some proper front weights and now its just right don't know why my pictures are uploading small sorry.
  9. its a b5001 amazing little machine for its size, thats a home built screw type log splitter in that pic.
  10. Got mine on ebay from a company called four ashes equestrian near Marshfield wilts. I bought a backhoe for my little kubota tractor the same time. iirc the grapple was only about £330!
  11. how do you get on with that grab?,I have one the same and find it really useful.
  12. as a plant operator for over 25yrs I totally agree with eddie- MONEY MAKING SCAM!
  13. Did the same myself years ago knocking track pin on old cat dozer. fragment lodged in my forearm and worked itself to the surface after about 2yrs so I cut the skin with a razor and removed it myself. I've always thought how lucky it was not one of my eyes that copped it,
  14. hi jon,I was working for a plant hire company at the time and was hired with a 3cx to dig this hole for james may to finish up in after his car was blasted by Clarkson with a tank! This was the 80's hot hatch special and this part was filmed at raf caerwent in s.wales a former us munitions depot. JCB supplied a few machines in police livery to the bbc. A good day with food supplied from caterers. thanks, martin.
  15. I met the chap who got punched, Oisin Tymon a while ago when I was hired to dig a hole resembling a shell crater for the programme, He was very polite and well spoken not the type you would expect to get caught up in this.
  16. workmate at the previous company I was with kept taking days off for car broke down, house burgled, wife left me,grandmother died, when she died for the third time the boss suggested he have her cremated to stop this happening so often!:laugh1:
  17. I was a tractor driver for david broome showjumper back in the late 80's.
  18. there used to be a common mod which was to sleeve over the track rod with a length of thick wall tube of the correct diameter welded at the ends.
  19. It's signwritten as "stewartry tree services" operating through south west Scotland and the owner is James Garbutt. seems like an excellent bit of kit, perkins 4203 engine, auto box, tipping body with chip box, tool locker behind cab, spotlights etc, based on an ex fire engine.:thumbup1:
  20. Anyone seen latest classic land rover mag? Theres a s11b forward control arb truck featured.
  21. thanks eddy, tried resetting the idle speed but will only stay running when too fast ie chain running.
  22. hi everyone, an annoying problem with my old 048 began yesterday.it starts and cuts great but wont idle for more than about 7-8 seconds just peters out. this saw has always been 100% good, any ideas anyone?
