  1. Hi everyone got asked for firewood recently,don't usually bother with sales only my own firewood but got a lot of wood already this year. I have a sankey trailer(narrow track) load of ash to offer a customer as a taster but struggling to put a price on it?

  9. Been a full time plant operator for nearly 20yrs now,and yes I too have a bit of a gut!! seems to go with the job.
  10. phoned lady this morning to inform her of the position.she immediately went into defensive mode.she insisted there was no orders on any of the trees and was going to speak to the council to put them right! I politely told her I wasn't interested in the work .she said there are plenty of "tree fellers" who would be interested?
  11. while dismantling a 40ft maple in a local garden yesterday I was asked by a lady passing by to quote for removal of 2 yew trees at a local chapel thats just been sold for development. nice lady wanted a quick job done for cash, and preferably be done on a weekend! anyway a quick call to the local planning office and lo and behold tpo's on both trees!

  13. I stack all my logs and always find it easier/neater to go bark down every time.

    ms181 oiler

    Hi all,I am currently running a stihl ms181 amongst other saws . It seems as if the chain oil output is a bit lacking is there a means of adjustment?
  16. 6 1/2 years ago I did the same, well done sam keep at it and before you realise it will be 1 week ,then 1 month ,6months and so on then you wonder what all the fuss was about! btw I smoked for 23years and quit on the first attempt ,best of luck.
  17. we had a hitachi mini digger in work a few years ago with an alternator problem and that was got at from behind the seat.
  18. I remember an incident when a girl on a pony galloped onto a set of upside down harrows at the edge of a grass field,nasty and the pony had to be destroyed at the scene.
  19. unintentionally killed a mole while stripping topsoil with excavator in work one day. could'nt resist planting a "molehill" with dead mole inside on neighbours lawn chap still thinks he killed it with his shovel when he was clearing it up!
  20. racing bike tubes made great chain sleeves on my land rover tailgate.
  21. just been to our local homebase.noticed some spurious chain oil there 1L for the bargain price of £9.99!!!!!
