    Zombie apocalypse

Or they'd eat him whilst you escaped! In a zombie apocalypse you wouldn't want a chainsaw, the noise would attract more, unless you used it as bait and killed them from a vantage point, use a 3120 or 880, adjust the idle so the chain spins, zombies come and investigate, you shoot em and the saw chops a few up, personally I'd have a rifle or bow Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. K095 mount on these Chinese saws, they just have more drive links than a husky for some reason Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Isn't much in the vibes tbh, the 090 (hard) is only marginally worse than the 200t (soft), difference is, is that the saw doesn't sag on the mounts as much Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Depends what you already know, I can't comment on what you will learn, as I don't know what you know. And Tbf when doing a refresher, I was told the trainer watches you, then corrects any bad habits or teaches you new things based on what's lacking Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Gomataro root saw for crappy ropes? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Nobody cares about spiders going through a chipper, in fact, I'm happier if they do, but nice saving a toad, I felt guilty when I accidentally clipped one with a brushcutter, and I moved a frog out the way of the mower I was using today, mowed up a few crane flies though! Save me having to treat the turf later on Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. HORNBEAM!!!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. BRISK WALK! It's not a jog, but just as fast, safer for a teen that doesn't look where they're going, remember, your site is littered with chainsaws, rakes and brash, it only takes one of the latter two under foot to faceplant upon the first, then you've got to pay compensation out and explain to the HSE why the kid had chainsaw cosmetic surgery. You pay well (very well) for a brash dragger, but if I was on your site I wouldn't jog. What you should expect is for them to grab as much brash as they can before it becomes so heavy they stagger, and a brisk walk back, scanning the worksite for hazards, priorities, etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Well the one I use is, my friend is trying to book a course, unfortunately, the instructor/owner has buggered off to Scotland to go do some forestry contracts Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  12. Homelite VI944, 1972 The mule, 1969, though I've covered that in depth on the bench thread, time to get another oldie Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Winter work, yes, it's all manual, summer no, it's all vehicle work with ride-on mowers Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. I'm just going by what I was told, but I'm in West Midlands, so maybe my trainer is different Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. A refresher is ONE day according to a trainer I know, if it takes longer, it's safe to say you're crap at doing it! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Yeah, you love watching men play with their wood Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Why? What injury can you cause from a back pack blower? Maintenance is covered in the manual, tuning is supposed to be done by a dealer, you wear chainsaw PPE when using a blower because you're tidying up after cutting a tree down, and finally, you're doing forestry, so you'll look a tit tidying up a forest! And Tbf they're asking those doing ground work to refresh, so loler is irrelevant, I did my cs30/31 4 years ago, bs3998 hadn't been released then, so that was new when I did my last course, plus other stuff has been added, but I'm sure you already know every cut ever invented and couldn't learn anything else Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. You got enough bullets for round here? Very sorry to hear that hedgesparrow Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Who is? Stihl? I ring em up once a month and have a go at em because parts I want aren't available in the uk Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. The tang adjuster looks like a car tyre valve tool, couldn't you just use one of those? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. And that's the important part, the man with the money says refresh, you refresh if you want his money! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Stihl contra Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Well, if you want an 880, buy one, I wanted a BIG saw, so I got one, you are the only person who can make the choice, and by the sounds, your getting an 880, none of our business a 660 will do it on a bigger bar, it won't hurt the saw, but an 880 will do it better Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Ah, poor bloke, Tbf the non-AV handles were bad, but I fitted it with the newest AV handles, bit of a bodge, but now it's only slightly worse than my 385xp Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Don't you like em then? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
