  1. Most saws run much faster chain speeds than PPE is tested and rated to - it's a fallacy that PPE will protect against a saw whatever. I have a factory spec Stihl 361 running a chain & sprocket combination stated in the manual as an option and that's turning over 35m/s.
  2. 200 & 66 worst saws ever!!?? HELLO??!!
  3. Sounds like you should start a new picture thread 'Show us your Boiler rooms'
  4. and that's why I run mine on the picco .. . . it's a no brainer, especially in softwood:thumbup::thumbup:
  5. Shame on you man:laugh1:
  6. Ahem 461 & 661!!
  7. Here's mine .. .
  8. There's a difference between using green ash to get a fire going in the woods/scrub - and yes it is good for that - but it's pointless burning it green on a stove/fire, and whilst it will, it's just a waste of energy. You old timers should stop reading crappy old poems and season your wood properly - it'll be a revelation (for you and your customers) + another for standing dead elm:thumbup:
  9. Ash, especially when slow grown, does take an age to season. I imagine the folks who are after it, in preference to seasoned wood, are the same types who don't want soft wood. Beech & Sycamore season quick, and that's what I find from producing billets with all three species.
  10. 661:thumbup1:
  11. 461:thumbup:
  12. Thanks for that, there were the remenants of another fruiting body present at the base but too far gone to effectively ID. I'll keep an eye on it.
  13. I'm just wondering whether the annual re-appearance of a cluster of Coprinus micaceus, at the base of a veteran Ash, is of significance? All I can find about the species is that it occurs on decaying stumps and roots of broadleaved trees. Would the presence suggest that the base and/or roots are already significantly decayed to be acting as a host? There are areas of basal decay and dead bark present.
  14. Aye 'THE' weapon in wee softwoods!
  15. 241 is a little gem, run mine on a 14", 3/8"picco Sugihara bar and it flies through stuff.
  16. I think we've already seen it http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/878292-post20.html
  17. yes it fits:thumbup:
  18. 461 is a worthy replacement of the 460 and I think the time it's been around for now and the positive accolades it receives is proof.
  19. What model trailer is that?
  20. Walk away!
  21. Ms200 rear handle with 14" = Ultimate rhodi saw
