  1. Not sure about Stilh's but I run plenty of Stihl's and they're all fine. What models are you having problems with? All saw manufactures make pants saws eg any top handle by husky, MS261 early MS201's. Do your research first and choose saws with a good reputation.
  2. PPE Chainsaw class (eg 1, 2 etc) only correlates to the level of protection they offer and nothing says you should wear class whatever to match the chainspeed your saw runs at. I run saws at up to 35m/s and there are no Classes of PPE that match that. Correct and safe technique acquired from appropriate and adequate training and experience is what will keep you safe, PPE is the last line and even then will only reduce the consequences of an accident not eliminate the risk entirely.
  3. There isn't any resistant trees, that is what they've found on the continent. All trees are infected and just have different levels of disease tolerance. Yes I agree it's underestimmated by many.
  4. We're still in the lag phase but once inoculum levels build up it'll be everywhere fast. Nothing is resistant, regen won't survive and long term health of even tolerant trees is on the decline.
  5. MS241 044Magnum and MS661 or MS361, MS461 & MS661 or MS241, MS461 & MS661 or MS361, 044Magnum & MS661 or MS241, MS361 & MS461 No it's no good I can't decide . .. ..
  6. What trailer is that? How do you get on with steep bits and mud with no drive on the trailer, is the wee tractor man enough?
  7. . ..forgot to add some of these; Don't want any more falling out
  8. Ah ok, I was talking currently retailing and none tweaked . . . but I have a fettled 044 Magnum that'd see your husky!
  9. MS461 is the King in the 70-80cc class, 20 or 25" bars . . . or 15" for sh!ts and giggles:thumbup:
  10. Also what tractor trailer combo were you running? Cheers:thumbup1:
  11. What size trailer were you running and tractor HP? Been thinking for a while about a similar set up, either 3 or 5 ton Riko COT or quite like the look of the 5 ton Kranman with steering drawbar.
  12. It's academic now anyway as they've replaced it with the MS362, which is no comparison to the 361 or a 560xpg for that matter!
  13. 461 not 441 . . . but if you can find a good second hand 44 Magnum then that'd do too!
  14. You've obviously never picked up a MS361 then!?
  15. The inside of the cab is something else!
  16. Most saws run much faster chain speeds than PPE is tested and rated to - it's a fallacy that PPE will protect against a saw whatever. I have a factory spec Stihl 361 running a chain & sprocket combination stated in the manual as an option and that's turning over 35m/s.
