  1. They still have to be safe though.
  2. Similar price for me in Ayrshire, not calor but it's just for the glasshouse.
  3. Are you doing one with chainsaw protection, one without and a waterproof one? That would be three sales instead of one. You could then sell a bumbag type thing for storing them in!! Where does the personal first aid kit go? Timbersports version for doing the axe throwing etc and a female version for the missus, don't think you require more material for that version.
  4. Take it you will still need an orange one for working on the railways?
  5. I have only noticed it on hollies and mahonia, just alot more than usual and a pain when i'm hand weeding. Cherry laurel and photinia, privet etc are doing really well for me this year. leylandii are fine but not growing as fast which I am truly thankful for, but there is time yet! It is my understanding that hollies have quite vulnerable root systems compared with other evergreen species. I might be wrong but I have always been careful with planting small specimens.
  6. Yes and it's very dry up here too. Hope it's just water stress. Cold winds early on in the year might have affected the newer growth as well.
  7. Read somewhere it's the orientation that they are stored.

    Stihl FS200

You could check the spark plug boot for any damage. I had an issue with the boot being in loose contact with the ignition cable. Would work sometimes but the vibrations from the engine would work it loose. It's on the to do list!!! Hope that helps.
  9. Ordering 200,000 Red Field Poppy's along Papaver Lady Bird which is slightly shorter. Red pelargoniums and red salvia for the edges. This should give a good display. Don't know if making the border a big cross will be overdoing it. Also got a big saltire to do with lobelia for the referendum next year.
  10. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH7nJgbpYt0]Grodan Pro plug - YouTube[/ame] Grodan are like the stihl or husky equivalent. Grodan SBS Rockwool PropCubes
  11. I would recommend rockwool if you are going down the soil less route. Not as messy as oasis foam IMO.
  12. It's better being too big than being too wee. I think stihl need to calibrate their tape measures. The waists are bloomin tight on their troosers. I don't mind a slightly longer arm, as said good when reaching out. there's always scissors. It's harder to glue bits on.
  13. 4 pallets stacked with a couple of battens to hold them together. I can then slide some wooden strips down the slats to make simple dogs to hold the work piece. Also got a couple of pallets stacked for standing on doing taller stuff. Cheap and cheerful but not as mobile !!
  14. Great idea, thats my big border sorted out for next year and the boss will love the theme and the remembrance of those who fell. Got to get a good succession planting plan in order now.
  15. Better dead than smeg.
  16. good job, glad your back friend.
  17. What were you searching for on the bay?
  18. Yes a quick explanation regarding your concern over differing standards between companies. Have a letter ready if no one is home. You could apologise for any disturbance caused by the tree work and then add about the other companies disrespect. I wouldn't go down the slagging route but just say you were concerned that your good name being confused with others.
  19. No the spots are meant to be there!! The patchy damage I was referring to was the nature of the dead tissue i.e. some parts of the plant being OK while other parts are dead. This could also be down to root damage.
  20. Used my 150CE for carving this week ( 10inch bar) really happy with it now it has had a wee tune. The small gauge chain is great and really quick to sharpen.
  21. I had similar damage on a few of mine. I cut the bad stuff off and removed any fallen leaves . the colder spring along with some very bright days can damage these plants as they are best grown in shade. the patchy damage may be due to breaks in the canopy letting shards of light through. Think vampires!! Just my thoughts.
  22. The brown bits look like frost damage to me.
  23. Aucuba japonica not laurel. It's supposed to look like that mate.
  24. I see a ASDA v TESCO thread.
