    Climb or mewp

Totally agree with everything you have said mate, like I said I climb for a living but if the option for a mewp is there and it's makes sense to use it then why not. Agree with you on the rigging side of things, I would much rather be in the tree than in a mewp. But if you have room to work and rigging isn't needed, well big rigging that is, then go for it with a mewp 👍

    Climb or mewp

This will now probably get peoples backs up, but, if you can price the job with the mewp and get the job, so that you earn a profit, why climb it? Don't get me wrong guys I'm a climber, but if the boss said to me here's a mewp here's a rope, I'm going to save my energy and use the mewp...am I missing a trick here or something? If a mewp makes the job easier why would you climb it?
  6. I'm also ex military and the level of first aid at my place is shocking, I'm trying to get them more involved with the stuff I learnt from my time (infantry) in the forces. I work for rugby council so might have to check this guy out 👍
  7. Had a big eucalyptus to take down this week, took us just over two days, mainly because of the amount of timber to get rid of. Cool job to be on though and was happy to see it finished today with the stump grinder

    Climb or mewp

Have you already got the Job or are you yet to price it mate? Just wondering as I know guys that would take that down for not much less than £600...
  9. That's it, because I have no formal tree qual I need to do isa or rfs level two first, before doing my level 4...like I said I started my level 2 and passed the first mod but never finished it. Isa seems a bit more suited to me as warwickshire college have stopped doing night time classes
  10. Iv been doing my own research into it mate and it depends what your looking for, I want to do my level 4 but need and access course before I can start it... I started the rfs years ago but then joined the military so never finished it. The isa for me is the better option. Because once complete I can then do my level 4
  11. Already running a hitch climber mate lol just like the colour lol!! And have already donated to cancer research 👍
